I'm sure this has been asked before but after searching with the paizo searcher and Google searching I've come up on zilch. So just for clarification, I know that the first steps introductory scenarios can be applied to a player's characters the first time they play them with that character, but does a GM receive credit every time they run it?

Yes, but the credit must be applied to a different 1st level PC each time.
To clarify:
Both players & GMs receive credit for an appropriate PC every time they participate in any of the First Step scenarios.
Any one PC can only receive a Chronicle (and credit) for any individual First Steps scenario once, but the same character can receive credit for all three First Steps scenarios, taking that PC, hopefully, to 2nd level.
So:
GM Part 1, credit George, you can still run (or play) Parts 2 & 3 and give the credit for them to George; but if you run (or play) Part 1 again, the credit has to go to a different PC, say John, instead of George.
