I wasn't the biggest fan in the world, but a lot of us grew up (or graduated) with her on the radio. She had a great voice. A huge voice!

It's a damn shame.

Yep. I loved her music when I ws growing up. Damn.

Like the OP, I wasn't her biggest fan, but she had a set of pipes that were never equaled, and she was taken far too soon.

RIP, Whitney.

Hey now! I have not grown up and I am still young... For a Dragon.

Ugh. Don't read the comments. Why do people have to be so abusive?

I don't know. It sucks that people can be so cruel. ~whaps CJ across the back of the head with a baseball bat~ But sometimes people just do not care. ~hits CJ again, just for the fun of it~

What do you have stock options in Louisville sluggers or something?

Because people can be asshats!

Never a fan, never listened to much of her music. The loss of Whitney Houstan, especially at age 48, is very tragic. Another cautionary tale of celebrity and drugs...

RIP

I am beginning to get used to learning of various peoples deaths here.

I was never Whitney Huston fan, there were a song or two that I liked but still it's still bad news.

This is for Whitney. May she find the peace she often lacked in life.

Scarab Sages

I just bumped into this. Very sad news. I hope her spirit finds the peace she seemed to miss in those last years of her life.

I have to admit, I'm somewhat relieved by the lack of hypocrisy - Michael Jackson wasn't even 4 hours cold when people were sending out chain emails about how Farrah Fawcett asked her maker to protect the children, leading to Jackson's death. Whitney's drug habits aren't forgotten, and she's not being completely whitewashed.

I won't lie - I was furious at how people treated MJ's death. I think Whitney's death is untimely as well, and so far there's been no evidence of drugs or foul play cited. I hope people can give benefit of the doubt.

Oh man...what a horrid, horrid loss. Thought her music was a bit much, but WHAT A VOICE! RIP!!!!

R.I.P.

Damn. She was another great one that I will never get to see perform. My wife walked out to "I Believe in You in Me" instead of "Here Comes the Bride" on our wedding day.
