Was wondering if there is anywhere in south Arkansas Or northern Lousiana where I could look into getting started in PFS?

Gonna guess the answer is no that being said what would have to be done to start a group in the area?

Hey Talon,
Check local game stores to see if they have any players as well. I know that's how I found some players in the KC area!

We have one store withing 2hours and it only does RPG stuff on order plenty of magic and yu-gi-oh players though. Might have to call some buddies at the college to see what i can pull together.

Are there any specific steps other than whats listed in the Society Guide to getting going?

I don't know about south Arkansas, but I think the guys at Imagine games in Jacksonville may do some, but for south AR guys, that's just as far as Shreveport or Monroe. You might poke around in Pine Bluff or El Dorado and see if there are any hidden game stores you never knew existed.

The only one i know in Pinebluff doesn't run the games though if i start Gming i guess i could do it.

El Dorado might be possible.
I may just wait till i move to Monticello in the next month and see if i can just set something up and I'll just have to handle the GMing aspect.

I never came across a gaming scene the three years I was at UAM, but I'm sure there are a few folks who game there (Then again, most of the people in my section of campus were the outdoorsy types instead of the game & video game types). Heck, I don't know if there's even a traditional bookstore in town (let alone one that sells game supplements). I wish you luck.

There ain't much of a bookstore and there is a small gaming group i got into through the Knights and some of the guys in there.

What Seth Brummond said was the best answer in my opinion. I would also print out the flyers and as build a good reputation with local game store owner(s). See if they will let you have a table and talk with people about Pathfinder Society. People will join if you tell them about the confirmation or run one of the introductionary adventures where they can play a pregen and you have prepared properly to make sure they have fun at your table.

Word of mouth is the best way to begin gaining members and ask them when they can play or want to play the sessions and try to accommodate them as much as possible - as they will be your player base. Once you get players and they are getting comfortable with the rules, ask them if anyone would like to try GMing.

Get with the LGS to see if you can get some of the extras in, such as minis. People like to play with them and eventually will want to purchase their own, so partner with your game store to do this. Also dice is very important as well. Suggest some of the map packs and the blank maps so you will have something to use to play with.

MOST IMPORTANT - HAVE FUN.
