New GM question - loot and chronicle sheet (First Steps, part 1)

GM Discussion

At Zarta's townhouse, the scenario says:

First Steps, Part 1, pg 16 wrote:
Treasure: If the PCs ask nicely, Zarta allows one of them to keep the silver letter opener, but only if they agree to come back and visit her when they have more free time.

However, the dagger isn't listed on the Chronicle. Does this mean the adventures can keep the dagger after finishing the scenario? Or does the character(s) need to purchase it at the end of the adventure, if they wish to keep it? Is it treated like any other discovered consumable and vanishes at end of adventure?

thanks

Silver daggers can always be purchased so don't appear on the chronicle sheet.

Thanks I was just curious about if an adventure ever gives 'free' loot or not. My understanding is that there's never free loot, but only temporary loot (till end of adventure).

No, never any 'free' loot. You have to pay for everything you want to keep from the scenario.

Occasionally there are boons that are granted on Chronicles that are "free loot". I know of one at least that you get a free item up to so much for free.
