I have only looked at the Oracle in person.
It definitely is not a beginner's mini. It definitely is small, and probably hard to paint, so I actually agree there. Beautifully sculpted, however, and I look forward to painting it. Just think about what it took to create all that detail in greenstuff... yikes. But IMO, my very personal O in fact, there's no such thing as too much detail on a miniature (says the lady with 2000+ points worth of fully painted Sisters of Battle...). Just minis that take longer to paint than others.
ETA: But I think that's also a good thing that they're putting put Pathfinder Battles. Painting the metal minis could be really daunting to some, so it's good there's a prepainted option.

I've recently taken up painting again and have painted a few PF minis. I should take pictures of them to post at some point, but overall I would say that they're not the most difficult things to paint. They certainly don't have the level of detail you find in Darksword Miniatures (for instance). I got a couple of those which I'm sort of working on at the moment, and they have a level of detail that is, frankly, mind-boggling.
I did just recently pick up the Order of the Scourge Hellknight, and he looks like he's going to be pretty challenging. I'm certainly still very much in a learning phase (I hadn't painted in years and it's essentially starting over at this point, trying to just get basics right), but I'm pretty satisfied with my results so far.
I also generally think that Reaper Minis are outstanding. I like their DHL series a lot, but I think their Pathfinder ones are probably among their best, overall.
