Paizo.com isn't it. Don't get me wrong, I like the Paizo website, and I like to PBP here, but not WOD. Simply put, I like to get very obscene when I play that particular game, and Paizo doesn't like that on their website.
Now, I'm not criticizing Paizo for not wanting swearing, sexual violence, and graphic brutality on their website. I have no problem complying with this rule. That's why I'm asking if anyone knows of an active website for PBPs that does not possess such rules.

I don't do RPing over IM. If I'm going to play online, I prefer not to have a specific time for the RP, as my schedule can be less than predictable. That's why I like PBP.
On FaceBook you can create a group that is only accessible/viewable by members. Then you can create threads just like here.
Or, better yet, they've combined the pm and IM systems. So, any IM (typed, not verbal) is recorded as a message. You can send a message to a number of people in order to start an "OOC thread". Then start another message with the same recipients to be the "IC thread". Sending a message to individuals would allow you to send missives without letting the other players see. Using the "create group" option would allow you to upload maps and visual aids as pictures. Links can also be used. Also, as stated, these remain as threads, but without actual editing power.
Other options would be RPOL (short for roleplay online, IIRC) and Obsidian Portal
They give a lot of control up to and including both privacy and modding/editing of your own forum, IIRC.
