RIP

Karl Slover, actor who played trumpeter Munchkin in ‘The Wizard of Oz,” dies at 93 in Ga.

You know it is good thing that the movie was not done today, there would be 5 crappy sequels by now.

What of Tin Man and the non -prison version of Oz? And the Wiz, while not exactly a sequel, should be considered. And I'm sure I'm forgetting other versions.

yes there have been other versions. Michael Jackson did Oz didnt he? and a few animated ones as well.

I was meaning more in line of the same actors being humiliated in the same role 8 times because there is not a good writer around with a good thought for something than spamming out another version.

If they did a remake today it would star Angelina Jolie as Dorothy, and she'd be doing CGI-generated kung fu against the O-E-O guys. Liam Neeson would play the wizard. All the other characters would be CGI. And lots of stuff would blow up.

Shadow Lodge

Michael Bay is not the only director in Hollywood Kirth.

Return to Oz

True. We might instead get a Blair Witch-like remake in which Dorothy supposedly records the whole thing on her cel phone, and that's what we're led to believe we're watching. You'd never make out any of the other characters because the camera would be bouncing all over the place.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW????? (Goes in the corner to cry)

WAY closer to the books than the original film, and I actually thought it was pretty good. It would be very scary for little kids, though.

Shadow Lodge

I actually preferred the Wiz to the Wizard of Oz.

Why am I thinking of a steampunk version of wizard of OZ. Sort of makes sense with all of the alegories to the 1890s. Now I am missing my ap econ textbook though.

Liberty's Edge

Not a remake, but this has been in the works for a little while now.

Also, The Chin is in.
