How many people have used this feat? I was thinking about getting it for my Trex AC, does this seem like a good choice? Is it better at low levels or high levels? I was thinking about taking it as one of my first few feats. My only concern is that it lasts 1min/level which hurts. But basically against many opponents the trex could be almost invulnerable for entire fight with this feat on it couldn't it?

It use to be better where you permanently had the ability do DR 5/ Addy or Blur was super good for a single feat.
Now it is still an OK feat but not nearly as strong as it was in the original printing.
I personally like the Totem Beast As it adds a really nice buff to non hunter pets.
Combined they offer a lot to classes like Beastmaster Cav, Wild Child Brawler, Ranger, Barbarians, Inquisitor or Clerics.
Really it is up to you After level 5 you pretty much can have it in every fight for the day. So it would pay off to have layer defenses not typically given to ACs.

Wow this is the first I've seen of Totem Beast, this looks great. So essentially I can have my trex' strength increased by +2 indefinitely if I choose Bull or +2 Con if I choose Bear for the entire day? Can I change between the two throughout the day? This sounds like a very strong feat for a druid, which scales nicely.

Basically yes. But you must pick which thing it takes when gaining the feat. So say you wanted to up it's Con by +2 then you can throw a belt of Str on him or cast your Animal Buff.
It's still a decent feat.
I don't follow? Ya say I wanted to give him +2 to Con I would need to find/buy a belt of strength? Or animal buff? What do you mean? Sorry for the noon question, but I'm not familiar with that.

Basically if you take the feat you pick one of the Animal Focus's of the Hunter class and your companion gets that ability permanently.
You say you want to give him +2 Con. That is possible. It is considered a Enhancement bonus (they don't stack)
Then you can give him a Belt of Giant's Str for his +2-6 Str boost (Again a Enchantment bonus).
Then you can give the AC one more of the other animal buffs. (Cat's Grace, Owl's Wisdom, ext ext.) to shore up it's other stat(s) of your choice.
Combining it all together makes for a very strong Animal companion.
You will need to check what Item slots your Animal can actually use so you can make magic item picks to better the Companion even further.

Ohh wow. Would you recommend I get Spellcraft to make say a belt of giant Str or could I just buy one?
