We're proposing to run five sessions per slot, for 25 Pathfinder sessions in total. The schedule is currently as follows but it may change over the next couple of weeks if some games aren't getting the sign-ups required to run so (a) make sure you check back there occasionally, and (b) let me know the scenarios you want to play in case I get the opportunity to switch out one in favour of another in higher demand.
Slot 1: Saturday 1st October, 9am-2pm
[Table A] First Steps, Part 1: In Service to Lore (1)
[Table B] We Be Goblins (1)

[Table E] The Mantis’s Prey (7-11)
Registrations are now open at http://www.sydcon.info/ so go and sign up! But be aware that, because the standard session times for Sydcon are 3 hours but Pathfinder sessions are 5 hours, you have to also register for the "Pathfinder Connection Session" in the 1pm to 4pm slot. The morning sessions appear in the 9am-12pm slot, and the afternoon sessions appear in the 5pm-8pm slot. If, for any reason, you're not getting what you want or the system just isn't working for you, please email me rather than just give up [ajrigg AT gmail DOT com]. Please also forward this information to anyone who you think may be interested.
Cheers,
Al

Regretfully, due to differences of opinion between our PFS organisers and GMs, and the SRGA, the organisers of Sydcon, we have decided to pull out of organising Pathfinder for Sydcon 2011. However, we are still offering Pathfinder, at an increased capacity, albeit at a different venue just down the road.
I'd like to emphasise that our decision to pull out of Sydcon was not made lightly. Literally hours of negotiation with the SRGA while trying to work with them over the past two Cons has simply resulted in our conclusion that, in order to offer Pathfinder players the sort of experience that we, as lovers of the game, deserve, we need to do it ourselves, at least in this instance. The decision was unanimous amongst all ten of the Pathfinder organisers and GMs. We simply didn't feel that the faceless internal committee that pulls all the strings behind Eyecon and Sydcon, the SRGA's "Decemvirate" if you will, were willing to work with us to meet some modest requirements in order to ensure our game's best interests were met.
And so, we have decided to organise "Shadow Lodge", a Pathfinder convention that will be held on October 1st-3rd at the Roxbury Hotel (http://roxbury.com.au), 182 St Johns Road, Glebe, just down the road from Sydcon. We felt it was important that Shadow Lodge was offered on the same long weekend and close to Sydcon as many people will have organised to travel to Sydcon already, and possibly even paid for games. And so it will be easy to walk between the venues to play games at either. We bear the SRGA no ill will and remain open to working with them again in the future should they become able to better accommodate Pathfinder players and GMs.
The Roxbury is a great venue, with a fully-licensed bar and good, inexpensive, food. The price for each game at Shadow Lodge will be a fraction of their cost at Sydcon at only $2 each. If you are under 18, or will be bringing someone who is under 18, or if you have already paid for Pathfinder games at Sydcon, then please email me immediately at ajrigg at gmail dot com, or call me on 0415 050 568. We will make sure you are accommodated and don't lose out.
If you have any concerns or comments, please feel free to email me: ajrigg at gmail dot com, or call me on 0415 050 568. We are committed to building the Pathfinder community across Sydney and Australia and welcome your support.
I will follow up with details regarding registration and other things this weekend here and on the various other places we Aussie Pathfinders hang out.
I look forward to seeing you all at Shadow Lodge!
Al

Hi, I'm from the SRGA
We're glad to hear you've managed to find a venue for your event. We'd like to extend an offer to all Pathfinder players to come to our social events (particularly our Saturday Night Banquet, Sunday Night Trivia contest and our after-convention drinks on the Monday) even if you're not interested in playing at Sydcon. The venue for our after-con drinks is yet to be confirmed, but is usually the Nag's Head (right down the road from the Roxbury).
We will also still be running Pathfinder at Sydcon, so if there's a game you want to play that can't get into at Shadow Lodge, check out Sydcon as you may be able to get into the game there.
Thirdly, on the pie front, we completely agree. We've done a deal with Vili's pies to have fresh pies delivered every day to the convention.
Hope there's no hard feelings and hope to see at Sydcon perhaps.

No hard feelings at all, Luke. And, likewise, feel free to wander down to Shadow Lodge to play or just to have a beer with us in the evenings. I feel I owe you a beer or three after your experiences as the go-between... Unfortunate it couldn't be worked out on this occasion but I remain hopeful for the future, naive as that may be.

Hi all,
I have taken over as organiser for Pathfinder Society at Sydcon, and just want to assure anyone that has registered or is thinking of registering, that Pathfinder will still be offered, although there may be a slightly altered list of games. I hope to have the event registered here within a few days.
We regret that Al felt it necessary to make the decision he did, but accept that he did and wish him a success with Shadow Lodge.
TC

Hey Pathfinders,
The venue changes between SydCon and Shadow Lodge caught me somewhat by surprise, but I have spoken to organisers from both events (Al and TC), I'm happy to hear there will be Pathfinder offered at both locations, and I hope players enjoy their sessions at either event.
makes Diplomacy roll ...
Cheers,

Thanks TC, but I must remind you that I don't make decisions for the ten Shadow Lodge GMs. This was a group decision and unanimous. We too regret that it was necessary to make the decision and we hope that we can resolve our differences to work together after the October Cons to put a plan in action for a joint Eyecon 2012. We wish Sydcon 2011 every success and, if players are unable to get a game at Shadow Lodge for any reason, we will certainly be recommending that they look into what's on offer there. We are committed to building, and defending the interests of, the Pathfinder community in Sydney and Australia.
In other news, registrations for Shadow Lodge 2011 are now open at Warhorn here everyone, so go and sign up to make sure you get a seat! It would be great to see you all there!
We have 30 sessions on offer over the three days of the long weekend, featuring Pathfinder Society scenarios from the close of Season 2, the Year of the Shadow Lodge, and the launch of Season 3, the Year of the Ruby Phoenix. And we are also offering the latest Pathfinder Society sanctioned module, "The Feast of Ravenmoor" as a three-part special!
Register now and sign-up to play to ensure that you don't miss out! Our sessions run from 10am to 3pm and from 3pm to 8pm each day, and the price per session is only $2!
More information is available here.
Cheers,
Al

Announcing exciting updates to Shadow Lodge 2011!
We're giving you more of what you've asked for!
With several sessions booked out or oversubscribed over the last week, we have made some changes to the schedule to open up more opportunities to play the most popular scenarios.
Among other changes, we have created a second stream of the popular Feast of Ravenmoor three-part special and created two new special sessions called "Player's Choice". Here, with your fellow players, you'll be able to negotiate with the GM ahead of time or on the day itself to play any scenario from any of the Seasons of Organised Play! So if you haven't yet registered, make sure you sign up straight away at our Warhorn site here in case these new seats fill up fast too!
So, with two weeks to go, 19 of the 30 sessions are now running (an increase of 7 tables from last week) with:
- 1 session booked out,
- 4 sessions with 1 seat left,
- 5 sessions with 2 seats left, and
- 9 sessions with 3 seats left.
Of the 11 sessions still to reach minimum numbers:
- 6 sessions need only 1 more player,
- 3 sessions need 2 more players, and
- 2 sessions need 3 players.
More details are available here.
See you at the Shadow Lodge!
Al

More updates to Shadow Lodge 2011!
With even more sessions booked out or oversubscribed over the last week, we have made some more changes to the schedule to give you more of what you've asked for, including three more "Player's Choice" sessions.
With one week left to go, 27 of the 30 sessions are now running (an increase of 8 tables from last week) with:
- 5 sessions booked out,
- 4 sessions with 1 seat left,
- 15 sessions with 2 seats left, and
- 3 sessions with 3 seats left.
Of the 3 sessions still to reach minimum numbers, all of which are on the Monday:
- 1 session needs only 1 more player, and
- 2 sessions need 3 players.
Session Times
We've also had some requests to try to aim for an earlier finish time in some sessions so that players can catch trains, planes and automobiles, and so we've talked to the fantastic guys at the Roxbury and they've offered to open up the place to us an hour earlier! So, whenever you can, turn up from 9am for morning sessions, and 2pm for afternoon sessions, and as soon as all players registered for a table are present, it'll start. So if you haven't yet registered, make sure you sign up straight away at our Warhorn site here!
More details are also available here.
See you at the Shadow Lodge!

Hi all,
Pre-registration for Sydcon 2011 closes at 5pm today. You will be able to register for games after that, but only at the con. Pre-registering makes life much easier for you, as well for us - it means you can just turn up on the day, pick up your player's pack, and head off to play whichever games your have selected. So, if you have been procrastinating, the time has come :)
Also, if you have already registered, you might want to print off your schedule, as when pre-registration closes, you won't be able to access your schedule online.
Tony Calder
Pathfinder Coordinator for Sydcon 2011

Thanks to all the people who came and played Pathfinder at Sydcon 2011. The con was a great success overall - over 220 people playing a wide variety of different games (including 8 tables of Pathfinder). Thanks also to the people who helped out by GMing at short notice.
The majority of players were new to Pathfinder, so hopefully we've made some new converts :)

Well done TC. It's always good to welcome new players to the game we all know and enjoy so much. Hopefully we'll see them at future events. Sounds like fun was had by all :-)
