Last WW I veteran.

Last witness of the scuttling of the High seas Fleet.

Last man to serve in both World Wars.

This leaves only one living person who served in uniform during WW I and she was a WRAF waitress on a Norfolk Airfield.

Inevitable I guess, but sad none the less, from interviews and his writings he was a remarkably humble yet brave man.

A chapter of history closes with him but he leaves a legacy of epic bravery and sacrifice...

Sovereign Court

When Henry Allingham and Harry Patch died there were some lovely tributes.

The Five Acts of Harry Patch

A Song for Harry Patch, music by Radiohead, lyrics by Harry Patch

Poems for the last of WWI by the Poet Laureate

I had no idea about Claude, the fading of a misused generation.
