Amateur. The proper method is to reply to the threat-starting post, which is something quite reasonable and non-controversial with something really mad. Like something no person - even those extremists - could react with less than utter contempt. Then, as soon as someone does go apeshit over that answer, delete your answer, so it seems like the understandably outraged person is attacking something nobody could object to.
Something like this:
