Anyone know of any good airline deals for leaving June 9 and returning June 12. The cheapest I have found was $369 roundtrip Atlanta to Seattle. Hoping someone wiser than I about travel can help me out here. Or, should I wait and see if there are any specials?

Try checking tonight. It's either Tuesday night late or Wednesday night late is when you find the best deals.

I haven't found a round-trip flight for less than that for anything other than commuter jets in several years. If it were me, I'd grab that up before it jumps another hundred, though sometimes you can wait it out for a sale to get an extra $50 or so off. But that rate seems the norm for coast-to-coast trips.

I would keep "farming" Expedia and other sites... they often lower the price for no apparent reason... That's how I got my Denver ticket...

Edit: Farming = Keep hitting the sites until you find something you like.

Of course oil over $100 a barrel isn't going to make for cheap airline flights right now.

The Exchange

when I was looking at the possibility of a flight from Iowa to TN the cheapest I could find was 319 and that was actually driving into IL to take a flight out.. so the 369 doesn't look unreasonable to me to be honest.

I'm actually a fan of Bing travel http://www.bing.com/travel/ which gets data from a number of sites like the airlines sites, expedia, travelocity, etc. and makes price predictions that indicate if they think the price will rise or fall.

According to a third-party audit of our predictive technology, we're about 75% accurate and on average, customers will save over $50 on a typical round-trip transaction.

fwiw: bing travel says atlanta to seattle june 9-12 is currently $369 and expected to rise within the next week.

Ugh. Just went to purchase tickets and now the cheapest is $430. I may just wait it out to see if prices drop. If not, I probably am not going to go. Between that and $325 for the hotel, it is just too close to Gencon to spend almost a $1000. :(

Have you looked at bundling them together? A quick look on priceline and I found air + hotel for $632.

I spent $1600 on Paizocon 2009 and it was by far the best convention I have ever been to (including Gen Con), mostly because it was easier to get around the hotel, and they have vans that will drop you off and pick you up from the airport, or to and from Dinner.

The guys at Paizo are really friendly and are open to ideas and/or feedback about their products. It is a more relaxed atmosphere and I found it refreshing to be able to converse and game with people who really love the hobby, and it shows. I was fortunate to be able to get into Erik's "Spire of Nex" game and eventually would like to see firsthand, some of Wes's gothic style or James's surreal open-style games. Also of Note, Tim Hitchcock is amazing as a GM and Greg Vaughan runs a excellent game of "Dr. Lucky" if you ever see an open chair at their table, you need to fill it.

It is worth the trouble, the money, to do at the very least once. The greater Seattle area also has a lot to offer.
