The thing is, it's winter in Wisconsin and there is no law saying I have to wear clothes inside.
So, no. No I won't.

Cosplay party was good, but they had cats and there was hair everywhere. But I am "in" if I want to be in.
One of the other gals is a musical theater geek and is currently directing a local production of the revue "Side by Side by Sondheim," so we got to dominate the conversation with a subject no one else knew or cared about for awhile until we remembered our manners.
Tomorrow is our annual choir brunch and then our last D&D session of 2022. This may be more socializing than I can deal with in a weekend.

Back from a sort of New Year/Christmas party with some long not seen friends.
One friend has a really nice house... Except it's on the other side of the city. And in total nowhere.
The street is literally called "coastal" or "edgy".
I had to look under the edges of polygons to find my way from the bus stop. And while some places take off asphalt from roads for nights, that place instead turned off textures for the winter leaving only a big white blank space that I had to cross to reach it.

I'd been hoping to exit FaWtL in the time-honored tradition of simply disappearing, but several texts over the weekend indicate that I've caused consternation, and for that I apologize.
I've chosen to leave the Paizo boards, and I prefer to keep my reasons my own, though I will emphasize that *NO*, LM, it WAS NOT YOU!
Nothing significant has happened in my life to change things:
- I'm still toiling away in the slide mines at Global Megacorporation
- Impus Major nailed his math final and brought his grade up from a C to a B
- GothBard is still seeking employment
I greatly appreciate the concern, but it's a choice that's been several months in the making, and since leaving Paizo I've enjoyed the extra 90 minutes a day I've gained.
Carry on, FaWtL! You're a great crowd.

Well Spock.
Now I'm going to have to learn to email like a normal person.

More seriously, take care of what you need to take care of. We will all be here when you get back.

Wait, you can leave?! That's not what they told me when they chained me to the radiator and gave me a sewing machine!

Why on earth would we do a stupid thing like that?
To spread the gospel of Trousers, Cricket, Anglicanism, Red-Coated Men with Big Guns, and self reliance (on other peoples' natural resources).
In other news, I went to Monday Fencing, and was very much delayed in getting to fight in a leaky gym by the Christmas Tractor Parade, featuring many plastic Santas and garish lights on agricultural machinery. One vehicle had an airhorn that played an interestingly transposed version of the riff from 'The Final Countdown', which I enjoyed.

Nah, that only happens when I head into Canada, and I hear the Others are out in force up there.

In a Lyft on the way to the airport. Trying not to stress about whether our one checked bag, which has everyone's Christmas (and Grandma's birthday) presents and my socks and underwear in it, will actually make it through to Boston.
Eve is picking us up in Boston and driving us home to Kennebunk.
All three cousins are going to be sharing one bedroom. Trying not to stress about that, either.
Holidays are joyful.
Holiday travel is not.

Good news: It looks like we will have a white x-mas.
Bad news: It's going to be 6-10 inches with gusts up near 50mph, blizzard is slated to start tonight and last for 2-4 days depending on how much the stormfront is slowed down by lake MI. They're warning to have blankets, working flashlights, and to prepare for power outages which is very concerning as the electric grid here is very resilient against winter weather and they almost never state up-front that they are looking at power outages so with almost a whole day notice ... if they're saying it is this severe I am more than a bit nervous that it's gonna be nasty. They even said "travel will be difficult to impossible" between Thursday to Saturday morning...
Update Edit: Apparently the 24-hour news media is taking to calling this storm a "bomb cyclone" and are saying that parts of it will sweep across basically the entire continent from Texas eastward. I've heard of polar vortexes before but ... a bomb cyclone? Sounds scary...
