I never planned to get the Inner Sea Primer, just like I never wanted to get the 1st Campaign Setting book. I'm getting the Guide to the Inner Sea cuz it's gonna have all the material and have years more development. (Golarion was so young when the Campaign Setting came out it barely had a name.)

But the Inner Sea Primer is in the new Scratch-n-Dent sale and I figured I'd ask if there is any stuff that is in the Inner Sea Primer that IS NOT going to be in the Guide to the Inner Sea.

If so, what does the primer have that the Big Book won't?

Regional Traits, Fighter Archetypes and Wizard Subschools.

And Golarion was already a year old when the setting came out, older if you include the Compleat Encounter series.

Ah, cool -- those Traits, FTR archetypes and Subschools -- are they the same as the ones in the APG -- or the Traits in the Guide to Society O.P.?

There are some traits that are reprinted from previous companions, but most are new. Every nations gets two regional feats.
The fighter archetypes have some abilities that are similar to the ones from the APG (the dawnflower dervish has the same move and full attack ability as the mobile fighter), but most of their abilities are new.

THANKS!

Plus, the Inner Sea Primer is a great and inexpensive player-friendly handout to players who are new to Golarion and want to make characters with some background. Wouldn't want to overwhelm them with the full setting, but this is bite-sized enough and has regional traits, so it's perfect for new players.

They're different.

The Primer is also a good buy if you know zilch about Golarion and are wondering whether to invest only in the Pathfinder rules or in the setting as well. That probably doesn't apply to many here, of course, but that was why I picked it up.

On the subject of what's not in the Primer...

Does anyone know where the stats for the Aldori Dueling sword are? They're not in the Primer even though the archetype is in there. The ADS is not in the Kingmaker Player's Guide, Core Book or the Advanced Players Guide. I'm guessing it's in the Kingmaker Adventure Path Book 1. It's hard to work up a character if their special equipment is not accessible to the players.

It's in Adventurer's Armory and the Campaign Setting (out of print atm).

Basically it's a longsword (d8/19x20 x2), that when you take the exotic weapon proficiency in it, it becomes finessable.

Thanks, that explains it. It's D8, that's nice.
