I was thinking how fun it would be to play a Tian party stranger-in-a-strangeland style, mystically teleported into an adventure path. Hmmmm . . . . which one would work best?
I don't know...but if you're playing a Tian gunslinger, you have to name it Wu Jan and take the Leaping Shot Deed feat.

I did an empty hand monk of the four winds from alkenstar that used the scattergun regularly -- his name? Johnny Woo.

I think the biggest problem in a Pathfinder version of IK is not converting classes (all of which could easily be done with archetypes and alternates), but item creation! The whole system of Mechanika in Caen arose because there was a chance of permanent hp loss for item crafters, and the chance increased as the item got more powerful. This was based on the amount of experience paid to craft it... something that no longer exists.
The arcane mechanik class might be tough... looks like a wizard alternate class, but the spells per day are much lower. The bodger's a rogue archetype. Fell Callers are a bard archetype. Gun Mages look like a bard or magus alternate class. The ranger would need it's own alternate class for a default.
But I'm getting far afield of where this thread started, which is about the gunslinger, specifically, being good for IK.

Nah, the base attack is too high and the spells too low to be a wizard archetype, or even alternate class. You'd have to change too much. Also, gun mages are Charisma casters. That's why I'd say bard. Or perhaps even a gunslinger/sorcerer prestige class.
