Congrats top 16 people! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I'd wish you luck, but:
-this isn't luck based
-you can't all have luck ;P
So instead I'll wish you skill!
Well, my villain is now submitted.
Just submitted. This is the best I felt all week (except Tuesday at 2pm PST, that is). Looking forward to relaxing a bit, watching the Super Bowl and then starting preliminary work on R4.

Now to go make some meatloaf.
I fully expect having to use one of the villains from round 3 for round 4 similar to last year, but I'm also hoping there's an even more creative twist.

Submitted, for real this time.

I secretly hope there is no twist, I have a nice location drummed up, though if one of the R3 villains fits, great! Mine sure does not. I cool twist might be fun though, I really liked the twist this round.
Good luck everyone!
Doing last round of editting on my villian. Need to have it done tonight. Once again work on Friday. So no chance to submit it tomorrow.
Ryan Marsh wrote: Doing last round of editting on my villian. Need to have it done tonight. Once again work on Friday. So no chance to submit it tomorrow. Yeah, I'm in the same boat, gotta get it done tonight, but I'm not quite prepared to take plunge yet...
Plunge is taken; water is cold. Maybe it's just my stomach. ;)
Can't wait to see everyone's villains on Tuesday. :D

And its in. Now to finally get a shower, do some yoga, and go to sleep.
One more night of pondering, for me. I think I'm there, just need to convince myself of that. :-)
I keep re-reading the 2009 villains and all of the judge commentary. It just makes me realize that this years Round 3 is a totally different ballgame.
A lot less words to describe your villain, that’s for sure. Bringing the awesome with not a lot of words is tricky, but doable. Looking forward to reading them.
Yeah that was pretty tricky. I should have probably chosen a design that didn't eat up so many words in the stat block itself. Here's hoping I brought enough awesome.
I do hope the fact that I didn't put a page number for my archetype isn't going to be an issue. I asked about it in the Rules thread and never got a response. I've been using the PRD to access the APG rules.
Submitted last night before going to bed. It's going to be a long four days till tuesday.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys have up your sleeves!
Done! Let the weekend of self doubting begin!
The die is cast. Good luck all.
And submitted!
Looks like I am close enough to the last one in this time around. I choose to blame my timezone for my tardyness(if 4 hours before the deadline can be considered late :P).
Good luck everybody, can't wait to see what people have come up with!
There was a 1 word discrepency between the official count and MS Word 2010. Hrm. (it worked in my favor, but still, bothersome)
Can't wait 'til Tuesday! This contest is so fun/stressful/educational!

Yeah I noticed that too. It counted 1 more word than the submission tool. Better over than under though!
--Vrock your socks off
Open Office had a 6 word difference, but once I knew that, it just put me a bit ahead of the game.
I noted the discrepency this time around as well. It also had my word count lower than I had it marked as. *shrugs*
I'm surprised to only see four entries in this close to the deadline. Hope you all successfully get them in!

I'm going to do technical reviews of evaluations at work. Not quite as fun as shredding 16 villain entries.

If this was a TV show, the directors would have murdered you guys for revealing the Round 3 rules early. How are you supposed to get ratings if you give us a head start?!
Mark Moreland wrote: Just kidding! All 16 contestants have submitted. Let the tearing apart of your precious words commence! Critism can only make us stronger. And if I fall, I would rather it be this round than next round.
Once you hit the plateau of the top 8 you cannot climb back down.

Once you hit the plateau of the top 8 you cannot climb back down. Yea, I'm really nervious about that. If we pass this round, then it's do-or-die, with no chance to win ever again. Which really scares me, because I'm going to be majorly hamstrung during round 5 this year. I'll have only 3 days to write up my entry (instead of 10), and that'll be while simultaneously trying to finish wedding preparations and moving...

Before I made the top 32, I was planning on being a real contender in 2014 when I wouldn't have grad school anymore (and more time!).
Is it Tuesday yet? I want to read the critism!
Hello-lo-lo-lo-o-o...echo. The boards are so quiet today. Guess everyone is recuperating. Just came back from a night out. First one in awhile, so that's good. New episode of Spartacus to watch and then Inception which I haven't seen yet. Just need to decide on the cigar- Onxy, Romeo y Julieta, or Gloria Cubana. Have a good weekend off everyone. We'll be hopping again on Tuesday.
Yeah I keep coming back refreshing. Hoping for something.
I've been staying away from the boards. I have other things I can do, and there's really nothing productive to do on here. I figure I'm better off re-reading parts of the Inner Sea Guide, trying to find areas I can insert a great location, or working on my Legacy of Fire notes, or working on my Warhammer 40K stuff, or... it just goes on and on. I dropped by to see if there was any news, but I didn't expect much.
Yeah, I bought "Tale of the Old Magreve" on Wednesday but haven't even had a chance to crack the cover yet. Homework weekend...too old for homework.
Its not that I haven't been doing other things. But it was a slow day at work today so I had a chance to look in on the boards.
Methinks I'm going to put in some time editting my previous Round entries.
Between reherrsal, winter carnivals, and the gym that is.
It's kinda nice to have this slow period to cool down, gather our thoughts, forget whether we remembered to carry the one etc.
I DM'd our 11 player monthly marathon yesterday. Four no-shows trimmed us down to a very manageable seven and the PC's got in some good down-time shinnanegans (sp?). There was a little unexpected PVP ending in a fatal keen scythe-sneak attack-critical (the party now has no cleric), our chronomancer is being hunted by his own ghost from the future, and our ninja prevented a tpk with some well timed poison use.
In all it was a pretty good day.
Well, just finished updating my item. Posted up my editted version in the original thread.
Guess I'll start in on my archetype now.
Nick Bolhuis wrote: It's kinda nice to have this slow period to cool down, gather our thoughts, forget whether we remembered to carry the one etc. Agreed. I had a rather busy, yet fun weekend, including a new game and group :)
"Ryan Marsh wrote: Yeah I keep coming back refreshing. Hoping for something. I've already destroyed my F5 key.
Thank goodness for work as a distraction today.
Ryan Marsh wrote: Thank goodness for work as a distraction today. Wish I had that. The whole clan is home sick today. :P I guess I'll do what I normally do on the weekend - lurk and make distractions for myself.
I keep having these unpleasant dreams where i realize i didn't submit, or the submissions are revealed and mine is not what i did at all.
Nick Bolhuis wrote: I keep having these unpleasant dreams where i realize i didn't submit, or the submissions are revealed and mine is not what i did at all. I had one last night that we had to do a monster concept and mine was rated a 13 out of 20 for being boring and unoriginal. I kept saying to myself, I should have gone "were-moth" instead of full moth for my creature. Still doesn't make any sense.
Were-butterfly. "Help help! I can't fly in a straight line!"
No nightmares inregards to that.
Nick Bolhuis wrote: I keep having these unpleasant dreams where i realize i didn't submit, or the submissions are revealed and mine is not what i did at all. Yeah my dreams have been of some really rad adventure proposal ideas, but when I woke up they went POOF! As someone who regularly can recall dreams from the night before this really irks me!
