Mansions of Madness

Card & Board Games

From Fantasy Flight, and bearing the Arkham Horror badge. Is this AH lite? A twisted version of Clue? Anybody play it yet? What's the word?

Playtested it on the Essen Toy Fair (was a prototype).

It's cooler than Arkham Horror, I think. You have an investigator (yes again the ones from Arkham Horror) and you have a modular house + surroundings for various missions.

There are storylines like: A professor got cracy after he returned from Africa, no one has heard anything from him since a week and someone heard screams last night from the mansion - what happened? (OK very short version)

Then you enter the house and try to find clues, fight monsters etc.

Very good-would rate it 8 from 10.

Thanks, ZZ. I'm going to have to pick it up when it comes out. I like Arkham Horror, but only get to play a couple of times a year, and find myself stumbling through the rules because they're not fresh in my mind. This sounds like it might be quicker to play, which means playing more often, and with easier/lighter rules, which means easier to retain. I also like the idea of random story lines and a little more mystery in the game, rather than just you fighting and sneaking.
