Amazon and Shipping

Not sure if this topic goes here.

First off I understand that when you shop online you pay shipping. Second i understand that companies want to make money. Yesterday I wanted to order a book from Amazon it was the 3.5 Macic Item Compendium. Before shopping about 50$ not too bad. I expected it too be expensive it is a popular 3.5. book. Then when I am about to finalize the order Amazon adds 35$ shipping. I tried 2 other D&D books one at 18$ and another at 25$ and again 35$ shipping. Has there been any changes in the shipping rates? I would understand say if I was living overseas yet Canada is right next door to the USA. I have to say Amazon has probably lost me as a customer. I don't mind paying shiping yet not when the amount is almost double the price of the book I'm buying. And it's not like the books are that large or heavy to ship out.

I believe that the issue lies with the fact that the books you are attempting to purchase are used books... I may be wrong, but my impression is that these books aren't actually Amazon's stock but rather other vendors who use Amazon to move their product.

If this was a new in-print book, the shipping would be more reasonable... and free actually if you ordered from Amazon.ca seeing as how it seems you are ordering from here in the great white north.

I order all my Pathfinder books from Amazon.ca and am quite pleased. And I have yet to pay a dime of shipping.

Have you seen this?

Good luck on your search! If I still had my copy I would be willing to sell it to you...

Cheers!
