I have a campaign website template for Google Sites at https://sites.google.com/site/pathfindertemplate/
I've taken great care to abide by all of the Community Use policies, and have been very pleased at the leeway provided by such for fans to generate content.
Now, from a design perspective, the white background of the approved Community Use Pathfinder logo has been driving me nuts. The policy states:
You may use the contents of the Community Use Package at paizo.com/communityuse/package. You may use only those versions of the Paizo Materials from the Community Use Package. You may not alter the color, typography, design, or proportions of the logos or icons, or otherwise modify them.
So, my question...does converting the logo to a .gif or .png file with transparent background comply with the policy?
thanks in advance!

Thanks Vic, that's fantastic to hear! Might I suggest that you include a .PNG with transparent background in the community use package?
Thanks again for your help!
Actually, I'm kind of surprised the PDF versions in the package aren't already set up that way. I'll see what we can do.

The site template looks so much better now. That's been bugging me forever. Thanks!
I haven't checked the Community Use Package yet so forgive me if I'm mistaken. Did they already release an updated logo with transparent background in the last 20 minutes or did you take Vic's words as permission and do so independently?

I just removed the background in photoshop and saved as PNG. Sorry for the confusion :) Once I got the word that wasn't considered part of the logo I had PS open in a blink :)
