Biting the Bullet

There is a stall in my local food market that sells game and other hunted meat. Anyway, while walking through today, to buy chicken from the stall next door, I noticed he had wild duck fillets for £4 per pack (4 small, 2 large or a combination thereof). fancying something different (and being on my own tonight, Hubby is at a Halloween party, and i'm not invited), i got some

so, tonight, i did as a side-dish, my famous noodles-and-spiced-greens. Then, two small duck fillets got a chinese-style spice rub, and quickly fried so still pink in the middle, with the pan deglazed and flamed, to make a little sauce.

this thread is NOT to make you all hungry however

It is to have a minor complain that i know the duck really WAS wild, as what i bit down on, thinking it was a Setchzwan red peppercorn, a piece of lead shot, i almost broke a tooth!

The Exchange

SO you literally bit the bullet.

OUCH

and kick the hubby in the shins for going to a party without you.

Jealous!

Ya, you gotta watch out for the shot pellets. Grandpa always tried to pick out the pellets before cooking with ducks he'd shot but there's always some left over.
