For any of you Paizo people interested in good fiction--reading it, writing it, or both--you should check out WilyWriters.com.

The Nov/Dec 2010 issue of Writer's Digest listed WilyWriters.com as one of the Top 75 Online Markets for writers, based on genre (speculative fiction) and quality.

That's cool news, to me, because I happen to be one of the founding members of the Wily Writers, and the site is where I had my debut as a fiction editor back in March of this year.

Most of the work of running the site is done by Angel Leigh McCoy, who is a fantastic writer of both game material and fiction. (Still, it's neat to be even a small part of an organization that's getting recognition from Writer's Digest.)

Check out the Wilies when you get a chance. There's some really cool stuff there. We even have a podcast for audio versions of some of our tales.

It is a cool site. Also, I read your piece of flash fiction. Very well done. You drew me in very quickly. I'd love to see this piece expanded, as it left me yearning to learn more.

Thanks, Tordek! I'm glad you like the site and enjoyed my little piece of fiction. I'm not sure if I'll ever fully expand that particular story, but the it involves is one of my favorites. I'll likely be using it again in some other work.

Flash fiction is a fun literary challenge. Set a number of words (in this case 100) and find a way to tell that story within that word count limit. I find that doing exercises like that from time to time helps remind me to be efficient when writing (i.e., don't use 5 words where one will do).

I forgot to mention that Forgiven, featured on the site back in March, was written by Theodore Thompson, known affectionately on the board as Zuxius. Ted is also the founder of the Pathfinder Chroniclers fan-fiction site.

It's an excellent story. Check it out!
