Heh heh.
Heh heh hehehehehehehe....
OMG, I loved it. It is a lot of fun, the gals are gorgeous (normally I'm a Jessica Alba kind-of-guy, but when Michelle Rodriguez breaks out the leather, wow).
The action is all over the top silly, the dialogue a lil stilted, although it is pretty obvious de Niro is having fun hamming it up with his role.
I live in Austin, so I was watching it at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz theater. From what I could tell, probably 2/3 of the movie was filmed within 8 blocks of the theater.

I had no idea you lived in Austin.
I haven't seen the film yet, but one of my friends worked on it, so I plan to see it soon.
(And, yeah. All of the filming was done here in town.)

I'm a big fan of exploitation films and grindhouse-style cinema so, bearing that in mind, this is a great movie. However, I do have one criticism for Robert Rodriguez. Most movies of this sort either have a flimsy plot or no real plot at all and that's fine for blow-'em-up action flicks. However, I think Machete suffers from plot-overload (maybe 'plot-splosion' would be a better term?) There are just too many characters doing too much stuff. They're all great characters and the stuff they're doing is really cool, but I felt like most of them were being cheated by the limited amount of time the movie has to tell their stories. Otherwise, awesome movie and I'm happy Danny Trejo finally got to be the lead in a movie. Dude has seriously earned it. I'm looking forward to Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again and hoping some of the surviving characters get their own spinoff movies.

I saw it yesterday at the Alamo in Houston (where I saw Grindhouse). "Machete" kicked ass. Even if it offends you with its pro-immigrant sentiment, it's worth the price of admission just to see Lindsay Lohan nude in just about every scene she's in (she basically plays herself).
