We're doing this because it lets us migrate peoples characters over automatically if they use the new APG add-on. Your old play test characters will be properly converted over to the new versions of the classes the first time you load them after activating the APG.
I am also getting errors on Non APG Characters

Isn't this like saying in 1962 the American space program isn't anywhere near as advanced as the Russians'? Time will tell.

There seems to be a problem with any of the user added content referencing 'SOURCE'. It's on their message board.

Just a clarification question. I haven't researched this so sorry if it is false. Pretty much everyone in our Pathfinder Group uses Hero Lab and a couple of months ago someone mentioned that we will need to renew our license every year. If this is true will we only pay for Hero Labs itself every year or will we be repurchasing the add-ons also?

No, that is not true. Once you buy the program it is yours. The only exception to that is if you want to put it on more than two computers, which would required an additional license.
Of course, you will want an 'official' answer, but I'm pretty certain that it will be close to what I said.

Wolfthulhu is correct. Once you buy Hero Lab, it's yours - you don't need to pay a license fee for it, and any addons you buy are yours forever.

We accidentally removed a source that some user-created content was relying on in this update. :( (we've since added a "user content" source that's intended for users to use, since the others might change as the data files are updated.)
Once we get the Internet activated in our hotel room, I'll see if i can post a file which should fix the problem for people who are encountering it.

Thanks I have quite a few 3.5 Monsters I put on Hero Labs and I want to use them
So are you launching the APG on the 5th or 6th?

Update on this - ShadowChemosh beat me to it! If you're running into this problem, you can simply download updated files from http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ and you'll be good to go.

The data package for the Pathfinder Advanced Player's Guide has now been released.
You can obtain the package by going to the License menu within Hero Lab and selecting the Purchase Data Package option. This will take you to our website where you can make the purchase.
Please Note! This package is not yet complete, but it has the bulk of the APG content at this point. If you purchase it now, the remaining material will be added in the following weeks as a *free* update.

I just purchased the Advanced Player's Guide and I'm wondering if it's possible to "update" an existing character to the new material. After verifying that Advanced Player's Guide has been integrated into the application, I opened a character I've been working on and the new material (specifically the classes) wasn't available.

If you mean the Archetypes, you have to select them at first level.

Go to Character->Configure Hero and check the APG boxes. That should do it.

Are the alternate Racial Traits amongst the 'not added yet' stuff or am I missing them somewhere?
(and it looks great so far, don't want to sound like a complainer.)
The alternate racial attributes didn't get done in time for GenCon. There just wasn't enough time to process everything in this massive tome. :-)
We'll be adding those shortly after we get back next week. It won't be much longer....

Cross posted from HL forums, but no sub domains available for druids?
(I assume they're available normally)edit: and it's awesome! My Jungle Druid and Mobile Fighter are ready for Serpent's Skull :)
We checked this with Paizo, and Jason specifically informed us that Druids and Inquisitors do *not* have access to subdomains. You will find subdomains implemented for all classes that are supposed to possess them.

Pirating is a much larger problem with the Android then it is for the iPhone/iPad, and we all know how Lone Wolf Development reacts to pirating *One of the worse DRM systems*.
From what I understand *May be wrong here* The different versions of the Android OS don't work well together and not all phone developers give an update to the latest OS, and there are sporadic Android OS versions out there on phones which makes it hard to develop for.
You are absolutely correct... you are wrong. Android is and always will be a system that is the same on all phones across the board. Always has been and always will be. There are features in one phone from the next that are not on some of the older phones that is true.. but they are not part of the OS, but part of the manufacturer add-ons and that is all.. just like Dell does to their systems.
As far as your comments and some of the others on here about comparing iPhone apps market to that of Androids. Well again you are wrong in your assumptions. In the 2 years that Android has been released on the market the Marketplace for Apps has doubled what iPhones was at this point in it's development. Now iPhone has been out far far longer then Android has and saying that the Marketplace for apps on the iPhone is "not even close" is ludicrous, it has just been out longer and THAT is all. iPhone limits the apps it allows on the market and this is not a good thing where as Google shares the framework for Android and lets others charge what the market will bear. It does not close off it's potential market like Apple does to developers.
Lonewolf would be great on an Android phone and I truly hope that they are able to port it there.
BTW as far as the pirating comments: Apples and Oranges... it is what the market is. iPhone apps are hacked all the freaking time and yet you seem to think it is worse on the Android phones when if you did the research you would find it is not.

While the iPhone has been out since 07' the app store has not. So your statement for comparison is wrong. iPhone app store is only a year older than android.

A friend's satisfaction with your product almost had me convinced to try it out. Then I saw this thread and, um, yeah.
Core Pathfinder RPG Package $30.00
Advanced Player's Guide Add-On Package $9.99
Bestiary Add-On Package $14.99
Player's Companion Races #1 Add-On Package $4.99
Player's Companion Races #2 Add-On Package $4.99
Player's Companion Regions #1 Add-On Package $4.99
Player's Companion Regions #2 Add-On Package $4.99
Adventurer's Armory Add-On Package $4.99
Additional Packages in the Future ?
$79.93 .... Sadly, unless you guys come up with some kind of subscription service or option to buy it all, including future updates/add-ons, at a big discount, I will never be able to justify buying it.

In all Honesty, Jarl,
That is actually a pretty good price for niche software (which face it, RPGExplorer/PCGen/Hero Lab are) that someone has to manually key the data in, then key in the errata.
Core RPG package = Pathfinder RPG + player content from 36 AP books, + GMG, another AP (6 more books) and the NPC guide. That's a lot of content, (and labour) for $30.
Bestiary the PDF is 9.99, the corebook is what $30? the datasets are 14.99
And lets not even mention the sheer volume of data for 9.99 for the APG.
Overall is it a lot? Yes. But for the DM especially, the players secondary, it is well worth it.

Agreed. I absolutely love this tool. The amount of time is saves me in encounter creation is well worth the price for the ongoing updates.

If you want to use things from different Pathfinder books you dont have to buy the packages. You can enter the things you want YOURSELF. Classes, races, Feats whatever.
Me? I prefer to pay someone who has already done it because time is a premium for me. But there's NOTHING stopping you from entering the relevant data yourself and it's fairly easy to do. It just takes time.

I tried the demo out again today after downloading the recent updates. I was hoping to be able to build a Rogue/Red Mantis Assassin NPC but the Red Mantis prestige class isn't there yet.
Will this be part of an Inner Sea dataset, and therefore not available until sometime after February 2011?
I didn't find that prestige class in the Community files either.

The version of the Red Mantis Assassin prestige class that was added in Pathfinder #9 is available in HL - that's within the Curse of the Crimson Throne, so in the Configure Hero Settings, enable Curse of the Crimson Throne (within the Adventure Paths section), and you'll have the Red Mantis Assassin.
