Erine Wintyle
Filled with murderous rage and with eyes flashing purple Erine attacks Sanstree and Broccan attacks Edrukk.
You will have to roll CMB checks to get them anywhere. Fortunately they get a new save next round, and those of you who saved are immune.
Please resolve the attacks. And no, this isn't a fear effect; it is a compulsion effect.
Erine: ** spoiler omitted **
Canvy: ** spoiler omitted **
Broccan needs to make a second save as well.
Erine thrashes about trying to escape Sanstree. Then she grows still. "Goat," she whispers, what is this thing?"
She disentangles herself from Sanstree's grasp. "I'm alright, I'm alright. The, um, babbling, it had me...but I'm fine now. Here, use this to fight the creature." She lays a hand on Sanstree's arm, and he feels a benign force rise up around him.
Ward Hex: +2 Deflection to AC and +2 resistance bonus on saving throws until you fail a saving throw or are hit.
Erine then looks about for something flammable.
Erine Wintyle
"Erine good to see you are yourself....now what can we do bout this thing?"
"I don't know, but we'd better kill it. I, um, think I hear Canvy's voice amid the screams. It might be some sort of creature that devours souls, that'd make sense. In which case, killing it would free them. Even if it hasn't eaten Canvy's animus, it still needs to die."
Broccan Dunchad
Will Save: 1d20 ⇒ 13
(A light of sanity returns to Broccan's eyes, followed by the sudden realization that he is attacking Edrukk. He checks himself mid-swing.)
"Wha'tm I doin'?? The voices were sayin' something...Mast'r Edrukk, are y'alright?! Did I strike a blow on'ye?!"
(Broccan's face goes pale and his eyes wide as they quickly scan the dwarf for any visible wounds.)
Edrukk Thorvirgun
The dwarf grins, "Ye warn't e'en close, lad. Ah'm fine. What'll we be fer doin' 'bout Canvy's visitor, though?" He gestures at the many-eyed pudding with his sword. "C'n we e'en 'it it wit' a sword? Erine, d'ye 'ave 'n idee? What're ye seekin'?"
Black Tom
The ooze flows toward you with obviously malign intent, mouths snapping and some dissolving again into the goo. To your relief the chatter subsides somewhat, but instead it gathers up a ball of goo and spits it at Sanstree.
Fortitude DC 18 or be blinded for 1 round.
The monster is adjacent to Broccan and Edrukk now. Fortunately for you it seems to move slowly.
You are up, including Canvy.

Canvy's mind screams, as life and soul become one. With a rasping intake of breath, gulping, gasping whatever air he can get to fill his lungs. His hands and arms start to claw the goo from his breast when he stops, shocked by what he sees. "What do you want of me? Is it my agony again? You will not find it so easy to make me suffer again." He says is a voice, he recognises as his own, but somehow its strangely different, lower, deeper more resonating, with maybe a slightly rougher edge.
I'm assuming Canvy does not have any equipment, just as buried in a shirt and pantaloons.
Broccan Dunchad
"Die y'slimy bugg'r!"
(Broccan slashes at the ooze with his longsword.)
Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Canvy: It was Broccan's intent to bury Canvy with his armor and sword. I believe I stated that in the Discussion thread a few days back. Since Edrukk was the other character who arranged the burial, I think that this most certainly would have taken place. Black Tom has the final say, though, of course. EDIT: After re-reading my post in the Discussion thread, I didn't state it as clearly as I recalled, oops!
Edrukk Thorvirgun
That's what I understood you to mean -- as far as I know, he's buried with his gear.
Greatsword attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8
"Lad, move back after ye 'it it, draw it offa th' grave. Ah'm fer 'earin' Canvy, too, 'n dinna like th' idee 'at it be sittin' 'n 'is corpse at all."
Edrukk will strike at the oozy thing and back up five feet, motioning Broccan to do the same.

Yes, I too took it for granted that Canvy was buried with his armor and sword.

It will probably take him this round to climb out of the grave, so he'll be able to join the fray next round.

Canvy continues and paws the armour across his breast and a smile comes to his lips, his right hand feels down by his side. A familiar sword pommel and hilt, make his smile curl at the edges as he takes his sword in his hand. He speaks to the eye once more, despite the weakness he feels from being BURIED!! the thought impinges on his mind, furthering his panic. [b]"Now it is time for you to feel my blade, for death will not take me now!"[b] He moves the falchion in front of his body, grabbing it with both hands, before thrusting it upwards at the eye.
Attack with falchion 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 (BT make any adjustments as required to the roll please)
Damage 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7

Erine Wintyle wrote:Looking for something flammable, and what did you mean by 'susceptible'? I was waiting for you to answer, it's why I didn't move last round. As you figured, I meant not resistant.
And do I find anything I can set on fire, such as a dry branch of pine? Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Black Tom
There are some dead flowers and stuff, but nothing that looks very useful to set on fire.
The mouths snap at you, one of them latching on to Edrukk, causing 3 points of damage (and grappling). Then the mouths start screaming again and those of you that haven't made your saves need to save again (including Canvy).
You're up.
Sanstree
Will save DC 13
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Erine thanks for the +2 boost
Cast daze hoping to stop this thing......
and hoping it is humaniod
"Who has the alchemists fire?"
"I don't think any of my spells will stop this....may have to do this the old fashioned way!"

I didn't get to move this round, either. That makes two rounds of Erine standing around. Uncertain what else to do, Erine runs around the creature, being careful to stay out of range.
I'm trying to work out how it got here. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Survival, and, what the heck, 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 Spellcraft to look for signs of it being summoned.| Broccan Dunchad |
(Broccan tries to assess if his sword blow had any effect on the OOZE, and considers whether another weapon would be more effective.)
Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Hopefully, that is sufficient to justify my next action.
(Broccan drops his sword (free action), draws his warhammer (move action), and strikes the OOZE.)
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Edrukk Thorvirgun
Does the ooze have reach? Edrukk moved back five feet after attempting to hit it. Or did the ooze follow him, as he intended? Was he successful in striking it?
Edrukk tries to free himself from the creature's mouth and retreat another five feet.
CMB check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Sorry all, life is kind of a mess right now and I'm struggling to keep the game going at all, so please play nice.
Broccan notices that his sword has trouble finding purchase on the slithering mass, but his warhammer strikes true. It seems like crushing weapons work better. Also the thing seems not to have organs, so there is nothing for Tiana to sneak attack. Stabbing an eye doesn't seem to bother it. It just grows another.
We might need a battle map after all. The thing follows Edrukk, as intended. I guess that at least Broccan and Canvy have moved up to be adjacent. Otherwise you can stand pretty much wherever you want. You're fighting in the cemetary, so there is a lot of open ground, but you could use the tombstones for cover. Not much vegetation except for grass and some flowers.
Hope that helps somewhat.
Also Canvy's eyes flash purple and he attacks the abomination in a fit of rage.

No worries BT, sort out RL, then we'll be here to take on whatever. I hope that I'm getting it right for the game.
Rising from the midst of the gelatinous ouze (or where the ouze once was) is a large person, speaking and shouting obscenities, in a voice not dissimilar to Canvy's, but deeper. The man is wearing Canvy's armor and wielding his falchion, just like Canvy used to, however he seems taller and his muscles more defined. He eyes glare in a purple rage, just like Canvy's, in fact you could swear it was Canvy, but just different somehow; changed in death. The slime from the ouze covers his head and body, it falls from his armor, his face, his arms dripping in long lines falling down towards the grass, shining and reflecting the sun as it does.
The Canvy-like person, wildly kicks out with his feet at the ouze, then swings in a wide arc with his falchion, following through a full 360 degrees, pirouetting on the spot, in a dance of death. Though the ferocity of the blow, almost makes him overbalance and fall.
Attack with falchion 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8
Sanstree
Sanstree grabs his club and has a go at the beast even though the club failed him filled with magic in the chambers under the citadel.
And here is Canvy reincarnated as the druid had said, lacking understanding yet of that magic assumes it is indeed him
"Canvy? The druid was a sayin tah bring yah back an here ye be!"
attack with club
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Sanstree takes frustration out on the ground at his feet rather than the creature.......

Sorry, I was just getting frustrated that I kept getting skipped. I'll post my action soon.

Sorry, that has less to do with the DM than it does with your fellow players. I'm holding my actions until BT returns to cut down on the confusion as he catches us up, but if I'm one of them that stomped on your action, I apologize.
Some games I'm in use an initiative order so we know whose gone and who has not, but that's not quite BT's style -- perhaps we could modify it so everyone knows who has gone and who hasn't. The DM in that game doesn't post it (generally), he leaves it to the players, so it's something we might do to make our gaming lives easier. It's a thought.
