I'd first like to congratulate you on your lucky draw! Congratulations!
A few things I will be discussing is the point buy, HP and gold allotted to each character.
Point Buy-25 point array
HP-Full HP first level, followed by 1/2 hp, 3/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1/2, 3/4.
so if you have d10 hp, it looks like this: 10+5+7.5+5+7.5+5+7.5
Rounded down=47 HP plus con
Gold=wealth per character level, character level 6th. spend it how you want
Words of advice: Plan a character that is effective in combat and in social settings. A fighter without SOME social skill, say, intimidate, is going to flounder.
The game may run well past its slot, so if you are leaving that day, let me know.

As crass as this may be, is anyone who got a ticket for this willing to give up their spot? I have a red-eye back, so I suspect the hotel will kick us out before I have to get to the airport.
No, it isn't crass, the point of the post was to alert players who were leaving that day an out.

Nice to meet you!
My wife and I will both be playing Skin Deep, and would like to know what characters we should play. She would like to play the Cleric if nobody else objects.
Also, if it's not giving away too much, should we plan for urban, wilderness, dungeon crawl, all of the above?
So far, all characters are open, if she decides to be a cleric, that's fine. Plan for a mostly Urban/Dungeoncrawl type adventure.

Jared: I'm hoping to run a melee-bard character (an intimidating, Wagnerian-styled, half-orc). Does this fit the criteria of being effective in combat AND social situations, or is likely to be too weak?

Well, if played smartly, you'll have very little problems. There are 6 players currently signed up for this event, so a bard won't be bad.
However, now that you are playing a bard, I would strongly discourage other players to stay away from that class.

That being the case, I think I'll play a Ranger. An urban Ranger. I'm thinking... instead of Strider, I'll name him Walker.

Hmmm...with the possibility that people just aren't checking in or may just not show up, I think I may just show up to the table with a character made anyway (Sunday morning, after all.) Would an Inquisitor of Shelyn be acceptable?
EDIT: And yes, I know I won't get a seat if everyone does show up and still wants to play despite learning we're going into the afternoon. But it doesn't hurt to check and I like making characters.
