In River into Darkness, how have DMs run the final mass battle? What happened? What tactics did each side use? I'm heading into the night of a million elves, so I'm eager for guidance.

I'm trying to figure this out too. I could run a massive battles but that seems like a headache.
Perhaps having the elves attack while the PCs are in the main building would keep the fights from be so grand (an limits the elves superior range) and allows for a bottle neck where they could fight a dozen or so elves at one time.
