After much debating and finagling characters were done. I started off the day before the festival so people had a chance to get into town, and run around a little before the big day. The town was bustling with locals decorating and getting ready for the festival. Cassandra decided she was going to set up a harrowing booth so she could tell fortunes the next day. I am using the great games that Delthos created so they were being set up in the marketplace as well. Freyhim and Alister came into town at the south bridge and after a quick stop by Two Knights Brewery where Alister was rather disappointed that they didn't brew potions they headed for the Rusty Dragon.
They bumped into Gilbert who was enjoying a hearty breakfast. He plays the fiddle, and was happy to take Freyhim up on his invitation to accompany him while Freyhim played his pan pipes. It didn't take long for the atmosphere to become festive as everyone got into a start the party early kinda mood.
Meanwhile Mogan and Arcaden entered the north gate where Mogan received a warm welcome from the Thinwhistle(halfling) brothers who were on Guard duty at the gate. Everyone in town had about giving up on Mogan for dead when they heard word of the slaughter at Ravenmoor Gulch where his fighting unit met their doom. Mogan's first order of business was to head to the new cathedral (It was far from complete last time he saw it over two years ago) and pay homage to his Patron Sarenrae. He met his old friend Ulfire who showed them around the cathedral before joining them in a trip to the Rusty Dragon which word had spread that Gilbert and some fellow from Magnimar were getting the joint moving. The session ended with the morning of the festival commencing. I am really looking forward to the next session we are doing a biweekly game. I also am encouraging players to keep an in character journal by offering bonus xp for worthy entries. I will add these as I receive them. next session should be very fun as we gt the celebration then the surprise.

Well the second session was tonight. We picked up where we left off shortly after the opening ceremonies. There were heralds announcing the games in the market(Thanks again Delthos!!). Ulfire, Mogan, and Arcaden decided they would take in the festival together and straight away headed for the Devil Hunt where they waited while Freyhim and amazingly Alister both felled the devil. Ulfire and Mogan both succeeded as well. Seeing that when someone struck a bullseye their name was hollered out to the crowd Arcaden decided not to shoot. Cassandra looked on from her table where she was giving harrow reading for the festival day. Gilbert spent quite a bit of time gambling at the dragon races, and finally decided to try his hand at racing the dragons after losing several races. He won his race, but he had laid no wager on the side. He raced again placing a gold wager on the side, and was soundly beaten at the last second by one of the young varisian's who had been doing so well. (he made a sense motives check to try and catch on to the fact they were rigging the races, but failed to make the connection still he moved on after his losses of the day.
Stoanne decided he would spend the morning under the food pavilion, and took good advantage of the free food and drink that was being offered by the many taverns and Two Knights brewery. At noon everyone gathered for the release of the thousand children of Desna. As the Swallowtails released within a few minutes each pc had one land on them boding good fortune for the next year.(another great idea from these boards!) Ulfire cast detect magic, so I took the chance to describe how he saw faint wispy trails of magic trailing behind the Swallowtails and each glowed with a kiss of Desna's essence.
That afternoon everyone grabbed some food, and several went to try their hand at the other games. Freyhim played his pan pipes through the crowd trying to gather gossip and rumors as he did so. I gave him four bits of gossip to chew on. 1)Chopper's Isle is haunted by his ghost.
2)The new cathedral has been warded against fire.
3)Gorvi's "lads" are actually slaves he buys from a Chelish trader in Magnimar.
4) Sgt. Granja has a price on her head by a thieves guild in Magnimar after she would not be bought off when she was a guard there. (I worked up the complete compliment of guards since there are not a whole lot of them. Three Sgt.s of the watch with 2 guards at the north gate 1 at tanners bridge, and 1 guard and 1 militia member at the south gate with two patrolling guards each shift.)
When the sun was setting everyone gathered for the dedication of the cathedral. No sooner had Father Zantus thrown his thunderstone and prepared to start his prayer than chaos erupted as screams were heard, and goblin voices belted out their war chant. Eight goblins hustled forth lead by a warchanter( I figured that would work with eight players). My players nearly all rolled very high on their initiative and their was much rejoicing around the table.

Session two continued:
Freyhim seeing what the warchanter was doing quickly decided to rally his own companions with a ballad tune that inspired victory over the foe they faced. Stoanne perhaps the quickest dwarf in all Varisia rushed up to one end of the goblin battle line squarely planting a fist into the goblin holding the flank. Cassandra stepped up, the Oracle of Stone called forth a blessing of Stone all but Stoanne ironically enough were within the oracle's reach as the very earth gave heart to the companions limbs. Gilbert charged forth hurling a hammer at one of the giggling goblins breaking its nose and near sending to the ground. Mogan having left most of his armaments in his room bore forth with only a dagger and his mini-catapult won earlier that day as a makeshift buckler stepped up to protect the oracle and bard from any goblins that may attempt to harass them.
Then both flanks of goblins moved forward to engage the enemy. The two nearest Stoanne called out "Get the small chops!!" the one who had been punched was still reeling from the dwarf's solid fist and missed horribly. The second however must have been one of the warchanter's elite guards for he hacked into the monk with a wicked blow from his dogchopper. The other flank ran forward toward Alister. Then two more goblins went forth the one Gilbert hit charged him banging his dogchopper harmlessly on the fighters shield. The second saw advantage and ran to pile on the dwarf who had outpaced his friends. He too made it through the monks excellent defensive maneuvers, but falling short of the devastating blow his fellow had delivered.
Alister let fly with one of his Ka-booms felling the goblin closest to him hollering out "I don't like things running at me!"
Arcaden let fly with an arrow at the warchanter, but it missed the mark.
The final two goblins finally pressed forward one joining the attack on Gilbert the other moving to the side of the one headed towards Alister.
Lastly the warchanter continued her song telling her minions to "get the one throwing fire juice."
The next round:

Freyhim seeing that the goblins were truly inspired by their leader thought to take her out of the picture casting a sleep spell at her. He was shocked at the willpower the little goblin She devil possessed as she yawned off his "superior" magics.
Stoanne badly wounded stood his ground, and let loose with a flurry of blows dropping two of the three goblins that were attacking him.
Cassandra called forth on the powers of the earth trowing a pebble to devastating affect at one no longer grinning goblin.
Gilbert drew forth another hammer striking at the goblin with the broken nose, but narrowly missing.
Mogan charged the other goblin on Gilbert dropping him. He attempted to cleave into the other goblin but it quickly dodged the nasty "long shanks".
The remaining goblin in front of Stoanne saw both his allies on the ground and so were their dogslicers, so he bent down to grab one for his other hand. Stoanne took full advantage kneeing the goblin in the head as it bent down never to get up again.
The goblin closest to Alister listened to the warchanter "she so smart" and attacked the alchemist missing badly.
The goblin attacking Gilbert continued to beat on the heavily armored man to no avail.
Alister stepped back from the goblin then tossed another ka-boom at the goblin. it couldn't have gone better the crazy little goblin seeing the bottle of liquid instinctively opened wide and down the gull..BOOM.
Ulfire called upon the fire of his goddess and narrowly missed the warchanter.
Arcaden once again fired on the warchanter barely missing the crafty goblin.
With her minions dwindling she pressed on buying time for the pyros to get closer to the wagon full of lumber and fuel. She let fly with an arrow of her own at the madman Mogan with his dagger, but did not connect.
