For those that have been before, or are organzing this years Con...
How late do festivities usually last on Sunday? Is it a "done at noon" thing, or do we run through the evening? Trying to set up my flight schedule/hotel room and want to see if I need to leave on Monday instead of Sunday to head home.
Thanks.

Last year, I believe that things ended early afternoon, like two or three'ish. I expect Josh to handle this year the same, but don't have any confirmation on that yet. I'm sure he will be by with the official word sometime soon.

I was so absolutely worn out on Sunday that, after running my morning game, I went back to my room and took a little nap. Then I got up, refreshed, and zipped back downstairs only to wander the halls of the hotel like a phantom haunting an ancient ruin. I searched for some remnants of the awesomeness that was Paizocon, but other than the deconstruction of the Paizo store I found none. I would really like to change that this year by running another game or two on Sunday afternoon. I wasn't ready for it to end yet!
EDIT: I at least expected some sort of closing ceremony, where the Paizo staff could stand, triumphant, in the center of the ring and the masses of Paizo fans could shower them with flower petals or something, but, alas, when I went back downstairs, everything was just...gone. :( But then again, I was so hopped up with cold medicine that I might have never even been there. I might have been at home and just imagined the whole thing...

On sunday There was 2+ hour long chat at the lobby with several Paizo High-ups, Monte Cook, Wolfgang baur and a few lucky paizonians. Just sitting and listening was one of the most RPG-eductative and funny events of my geek-life. IIRC it ended around 2 pm and yes, afterwards it was pretty much dead.

Go home on Monday. Always come a day early for the con, leave the day after the con. That way you get maximum enjoyment out of your convention. :D
Ditto.
I flew in a day early. And I stayed over on Sunday night to catch a noon-time flight on Monday. So that left time for an enjoyable dinner with a bunch of folks down at that old firestation restuarant we descended upon. I got to talk at-length with Jason Nelson and Rob McCreary. Boomer was somewhere in there, too...but amiable fellow that he is, he was off chatting with everyone...(and taking smoke breaks, I'm sure). Lou Agresta and Ed Healy stopped by later and we had like 15-20 people just loitering outside that place for a good hour or more trying to extend the awesomeness of PaizoCon 2009.
The next morning, Ross picked me up for a ride back to the airport. And, because we were a little ahead of schedule, I convinced him with a fey-inspired suggestion spell to take me by the Paizo office before they packed everything up and moved out to the new digs. Though, I think I failed my Stealth check trying to sneak past the giant meeting room where virtually the entire Paizo staff were busy trying to hatch some new plot to take over the world. Nevertheless, I did get to view the awesomeness that was the original Paizo lair. I doubt I'll ever get to see the new one, since it's much further from the hotel. But I can say I at least set foot in the old one. :-)
Meanwhile, as far as Sunday activities go...I know I'd enjoy a game of something after the convention "officially" ends. I suspect there'll be a lot of people hanging around again if it's anything like last year. The hotel staff will probably need to shoo us all out the door to get rid of us.
Looking forward to it already,
--Neil

The game rooms and our sales room will come down around 2-ish, but that should not stop folks from gaming in the lounge or the lobby or continuing to hangout and have dinner and so on. I know last year I went to a late lunch/early dinner with Vaughan and Kortes right after we finished packing everything out. Maybe someone should start a "Sunday after the show" thread and organize dinners, movies, games, and so on. :-) There's an awesome movie theater just 4 or so blocks west of the hotel across I-405.

Good idea. I won't leave until Monday.

This will be my first PaizoCon (third time's the charm). Due to work responsibilities, I have to wait to fly up on Friday evening and fly back to San Diego on Sunday evening.
That said, my goal is to get the most con goodness I can get out of the 48 hours I have there! I'll be haunting the halls or something until I have to catch the shuttle (or whatever) back to the airport.

Wow! Glad you are coming! You gonna meet Angel too?

Thanks, Zux! I'm looking forward to meeting you.
If everything works out, I will be meeting Angel for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. Still working out the details, but I missed seeing her the last time I was in Seattle, so it's pretty much a requirement this time. ;-)

You bringing the kids Paris? I am bringing my little 12 year old boy.

Not this time. This trip is my Father's Day present. (Do I even need to say that my wife is awesome?)
My girls (8-year-old twins) are a bit...excitable. I'm afraid that either their heads will explode or they will induce mass insanity in everyone else. Either way there wouldn't be much of an opportunity for me to socialize.
I'm raising them to be little gamers, already, but they need to mellow a bit before they get to travel with me to a con.

After the Con last year was part of the best time for me - it was "wind-downy" but great all around, from the chat with Paizonians, to dinner w/group, chatting with Russ Taylor. Plus I got to meet Zylphryx, and finally tracked down/meet Daigle to make sure he got his goblin brains. Stayed up until 11 p.m. (followed by a 4 a.m. cab to the airport shared with Mr. Shackleton).

And it was a mighty tasty goblin brain to be sure! Thanks again! :)
