The Exchange

Any Idea on what the Original creator of Superman would have the rights to? I know it is the 'Leaps tall buildings in a single bound' but is it the Superman, son of Krypton reboot or is that DC's?

God forbid he get a legal deal like WOTC's which says everything created and posted on the WOTC Forums belongs to them.

That would give the whole comic box to the Original Creators.

"Siegel and Shuster created a bald telepathic villain named "The Superman," bent on dominating the entire world. He appeared in the short story "The Reign of the Super-Man" from Science Fiction #3, a science fiction fanzine that Siegel published in 1933.[5] The character was not successful." -Wiki

A Rip off of this?

"Out of the Silence, his best known novel, is set in Australia, and involves the discovery of a gigantic, buried sphere, containing the accumulated knowledge of a past civilization. It was published by The Argus in weekly instalments over a six month period in 1919. The first Australian edition in book form was published by Vidler, in 1925. The same year a British edition appeared (Hamilton), and in 1928 an American edition (Rae D. Henkle). In 1934 the book was adapted to a comic-strip format by an artist identified only as Hix. This pictorial version was published daily in The Argus in 120 episodes. In the same year the novel was dramatised for radio presentation as a 25 part serial." -wiki

Cox's Villain in OUT OF THE SILENCE is a Superman hiding in a fortress of solitude containing all knowledge....

and then Siegel & Shuster reboots as this:

"Tossing and turning in bed one night in 1934, he came upon the more familiar version of the character.[1][6] Siegel and Shuster then began a six-year quest to find a publisher. Titling it The Superman..."-WIKI

From what I've heard in the many reports, if Siegel and Shuster get the rights, DC would still be able to publish Superman and could reference Kryptonite, but not the story of Jor-El and Lara, Krypton blowing up or his being known as Kal-El by other Kryptonians. They'd still be able to use Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, etc. and all of his abilities (since he is now way stronger than he used to be).
