Ama Freewater |
Ama takes a long pull from his wineskin, sighing at the events that he has found himself in the middle of, and looking to the others to see what they were planning. As of yet, he had not left where he was on the road, leaning against his quarterstaff like the old man he resembled. It remained to be see whether or not the others would go through with whatever plan they may have. Personally Ama was not inclined to kill anyone, at least, not yet.
At the raven's notice, Ama turns his eyes to Conrad and Ilfen, wondering what was next while he kept an eye on their surroundings.

The raven continues to caw, telling Conrad that the he doesn't want to fly out again. Though the big man lumbers along like a troll, he is attuned to the sights and sounds of the wild. Onyx thinks the man has spotted him twice already. And he carries a very long bow ...
Ama:
Are we using bluff and perception on Conrad and Iflen? There's nothing I can say about their intentions that they haven't already revealed.

Kelara Monderskan |
When Kelara hears from Conrad that the man and goblin are approaching, she slows down her pace and lets the others pass her. She tries not to show it, but she's very afraid of whatever will happen now. Killing others, even if they're evil, sounded very easy in the stories, but now when she is going to try it herself she only gets more frightened. Remembering her earlier vow makes her panic even more, as she feels now that it was quite impulsive and not like her. She can't even remember the old dead druid's face for all her fright, and hesitates whether to tell her friends about her second thoughts. As usual, she keeps hesitating while not saying a thing.
Kelara will take 3rd or 4th place in walking order, unless someone objects and won't pass her when she slows down. If that happens, she'll keep on walking first.

Iflen Wolfheart |

Iflen looks over at Kelara and puts his hand on her shoulder "Dont worry I'll protect you" he says soothingly. "We should get into the undergrwoth out of sight and then ambush them when they come out" Iflen darts into the undergrowth and tries to conceal himself.
Stealth check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Ama Freewater |
The old(er) man takes another pull from his wineskin as the others duck off into the bushes to hide, scratching at his beard for a second as he looks around for a suitable hiding place, unable to keep from wondering how this all will turn out. With a small amount of wine poured from his wineskin, and a brief moment of regard to Cayden, Ama climbs adroitly up the nearest tree, concealing himself as best he was able.

"Ambush!" barks the big man in black scale mail. "Waaugh!" screeches the odious goblin. They both launch attacks against Ama in the tree directly above them.
=======================================================================
OOC:
Ama gets +4 to AC from his cover in the trees for a total AC of 19.
The mercenary shoots his longbow
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 - HIT
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
The goblin wields a wand of burning hands
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Ama must roll a saving throw for reflex to halve (negate) damage.

Iflen Wolfheart |

Iflen slaps his palms together and pushes them through air whilst shouting "Irofen manastuul!"
He then slides his knife out of its sheath and steps out into the path. "Come on goblin! We've got a score to settle!" he shouts in a commanding voice.
Standard action - Cast grease on squares F2+3 and G2+3. Mercs must immediatly make a DC16 Reflex save or fall. They can move through the area on a DC10 Acrobatics, failure=cannot move+reflex save, failure by 5 or more=fall.
Move action - Move to C2 whilst drawing knife.

Kelara Monderskan |
Kelara moves to a better position between the trees, trying to catch both foes in one of her spells. She mutters something to herself, then clearly says "igneus manus". Her hands start to glow red as she aims them to the general direction of her opponents. Suddenly, red streams of fire eject from her fingers, burning both opponents and some of the trees on the other side of the path.
Move to D4, cast Burning hands to catch both enemies (E3to1, F3to2,G3)
1d4 ⇒ 3 damage, DC 15 to half it.

Ama Freewater |
Oop, was expecting to see a result of the reflex save.
Reflex Save1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
'So nice of them to hold still', Ama thought as he leapt from the tree, part evasion, but mostly attack. The large man was his target, trusting the others to be able to handle the goblin. If they could not, then this would likely be his last miscalculation.
Declaring a Charge on the Attack 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5 as well as Stunning Fist

(They do not move this round so are not-flat footed, and do not need to save.)

Round 2 begins
"Knu, to your left, sleep 'em!" yells the big man. Strapped to his back is a massive sword almost as long as a man is tall. Dropping his bow, he attempts to draw the sword but struggles to stay on his feet ...
The goblin wavers unsteadily, as if it is about to faint. It turns to Conrad and Iflen and weaves a spell ...
==========================================================================
OOC:
Human tries to draw his sword, requiring a move action.
Reflex save against Grease spell 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
He fails to draw the sword, but manages to remain standing.
Will saving throws from Conrad and Iflen please.

Iflen Wolfheart |

Both the merc's required a reflex save immediatly when i cast the spell to avoid falling, but just have to remember it next time for now.
Will save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Seeing that the goblin hasnt acnowledged him Iflen steps up his insults and threats. "Come on you son of a dung beetle!" he yells at the goblin "Lets see you in a fair fight!" Iflen feels the anger welling up inside him, letting it explode as acid through his palm as he thrusts it towards the goblin.
Acid splash ranged touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3

Ama Freewater |
Was waiting to see whether or not they got affected by the sleep spell, since Ama goes after Kelara. No point in attacking and breaking the spell if it works.
The first attack was no good, horrible, actually, but it was not like he leapt from trees often to attack. He was thankful that someone saw fit to make their footing uncertain, which probably saved his life. If only his wineskin was not in the way.. Fumbling with his equipment, he only managed to throw himself off-balance, almost dropping the wineskin and accidentally hitting the goblin ineffectively while in the process of trying to keep from dropping it.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
This is assuming the Sleep spell that Kelara cast is resisted.

DM JZ |

Round 2 results:
Human merc – Fails to draw his sword and does nothing else.
Conrad – no action?
Goblin – casts sleep on Conrad and Iflen.
Ama gets an AOO, but misses.

Iflen saves successfully.
Kelara - casts sleep on the mercenaries (DC 15)

OOC:
Merc tries to draw his sword, requiring a move action.

the battle map is the same, except that the goblin is gone.
The party may post now.

Conrad Neficam |

I think I missed round 2 ... ;)
No biggy, I'll act in round 3.
Seeing Ama go down from a vicious cut from that huge sword, Conrad envisions himself cut in two.
He needs extra protection, in case the big man comes closer.
And while we're at it ... some distance between them.
I move to A3 and cast mage armor on myself. AC is now 17. Duration is 1hour.

Iflen Wolfheart |

Iflen sees the splash of blood and watches in slow motion and Kelara crumples into a bloody heap "Noo!" he yells as he runs foward and attempts to plunge his knife into the large mercs face.
Move to F3
Acrobatics check to avoid reflex save on the grease 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 vs Dc10 - FAIL!
Reflex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 - FAIL! Iflen slips and falls on his ass.
Attack - knife: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Dmg:1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The reflex save for the merc was actually 16. 10 + 4cha + 1 spell level + 1 conjuration spell focus. But he succeeded that anyway :)
Wow thats a lot of bad rolls...
