Initiative
Alerion 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Caelwyn 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Levistus 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Olomorn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Thovar 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Lord Corgan 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Go on then: Olomorn, Caelwyn, Thovar, Lord Corgan, Alerion, Levistus.
This won't be a surprise round... he's been expecting you.
You'll be starting around I16, just off the map, Alerion has been keeping an eye on the cavern from the corner where he was last.

Hmmm, maybe I am confusing myself with old 3.5 rules. Under touch spells (page 185) you can hold the touch spell. So I am unsure now. If not then the plan will be for the dwarves to step into the room right in front of him while he casts it, assuming they agree. I will be out until tomorrow so hopefully this is enough to figure things out from.

As the group of Pathfinders stride into the cavern, Olomorn in the lead, the imposing figure of Maren Fuln's aberration shifts its weight behind the table in the south east corner.
This large and brightly scaled creature looks somewhat humanoid. It has a strangely human face, though a stunted and teeth-filled crocodile’s maw exists where a human mouth would be. The scales on its face allow no expression and it walks upright on two reptilian legs, trailing a thick, stunted tail. Its arms, though covered in scales and reptilian in coloration, look more human than lizard.
The crocodile-thing turns its intense gaze to Olomorn as he enters the cavern.
Please can you make a will save against the Dominate Person.
New Initiative Order
Olomorn, Thovar, Levistus, Alerion, Caelwyn, Lord Corgan.

![]() |

Calixymenthillian:
Olo laughs in a low hollow tone: "He, he, he...out of my mind "Lord Corgan." Elf and human blood is too thin for my tastes and my cousin owes me money...but uncle Olo may have a gift for you..."
Olo moves to F9 - I want to give Levistus a chance to get his spell off before I do anything - so I am NOT double moving.

![]() |

Thovar moves into the room to stand beside his cousin and well out of the way of the others. Move up to F8.

Caelwyn's arrow flies straigh towards the aberration, but it strikes an invisible barrier a few feet away from his scaly hide and is deflected away. The arrow draws a stern glance from the Crocodile King, who shouts in a guttural, yet strangely cultured voice.
"You dare disobey me, wretch?" he booms to Olomorn, before hearing the sound of Levistus' spell, Spellcraft 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21, and turns to the sorcerer with what, on his scaly face, passes for a scowl, "So, you want to test your pathetic magics against Lord Corgan, do you?"
With that he gestures with his clawed hands and with a triumphant roar launches a single dart of magical energy at Levistus, 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 points of damage. Seeing the meager result of his spell, his eyes betray a brief look of confusion, before he lets out a bestial roar of rage.
New map. Levistus needs to make a DC15 concentration check to keep his spell.

![]() |

Concentration check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Nope. I really am beginning to hate the Hypnotism spell. Should have just gone with sleep. Who in there right mind is going to sit around for an entire round and allow you to hypnotize them? The description talks about it like your supposed to be able to use it outside of combat but whoever your casting it on is going to initiate combat as soon as you begin casting it. Sigh....rant done.
Levistus' curses as the bolt slams into him ruining his spell. Eyes flashing with anger and pain he says with a hiss through clenched teeth, "Kill it quickly."

Concentration check: 1d20+5 Nope.
I agree, it would probably make more sense as a standard action. I guess you could use Bluff to convince someone outside of combat that you where casting something else... so long as they don't have ranks in Spellcraft.
Olo rushes in at Levistus' hissed instruction, but the combination of Lord Corgan's magical protections and his scaly hide prevent the axe from causing any damage.

![]() |

Just so you know Calix, I have no problems what soever with how your running things. Actually, quite the opposite. I may take you up on that suggestion just for the sake of simplicity. Thanks. Now as to Levistus' action this round...
Still reeling from the magic bolts impact, the sorcerer snaps out a single syllable and tosses strands of wool at Lord Corgan's eyes.
Daze DC 18 will save.

![]() |

Thovar moves further into the room and waits to see what happens, reserving his spells until they are needed. He holds his hammer at the ready in case the beast overpowers Olo and comes too close...
Move to G7 and ready an attack against Lord Calgan if he enters melee with me.

![]() |

Thovar moves closer, ready to engage the Crocodile king should he manage to pass Olomorn.
Levistus completes another spell, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21, but the great aberration shakes off his influence with a contemptuous laugh.
Alerion fires an arrow at the beast, 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 3 - 4 = 15, but misses as the arrow collides with an invisible barrier. Cursing to himself, he dropw the bow and draws his rapier.
Caelwyn begins to sing, just as Lord Corgan opens his jaws wide to bite at Olomorn, 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22, 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 damage, ripping at his flesh with vicious teeth.
Olomorn swings his axe to fend off the attack, but the blade scrapes harmlessly along his scaly hide, the force behind the blow cushioned by the shield of force protecting the Crocodile King.

![]() |
Caelwyn maintains his Oratory, "Break his bones and new boots for all!" but now that he is on a roll, he can concentrate on loosing an arrow at Lord Corgan's face.
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Lol! +1 to those (I forgot my own bonus! dummy...)
Inspire Courage: +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
3 rounds left.

![]() |

I'm losing track of the order a little bit. But when it's my turn...
"Fear not, Olo! Abadar's blessings be upon you!" Thovar moves his mace into his off-hand and reaches out to bestow cure light wounds upon his cousin, using his last remaining spell of significant power. Thovar then moves a bit closer to the enemy, knowing he will need to enter battle with it soon...
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 points of healing for Olomorn, and a 5-foot step to H7
I still have channel energy left but that will also heal Corgan assuming he's a living creature...

![]() |

Didn't Thovar just act or is it his turn again? And my next action was posted above unless I missed something. Which is very possible.
I was just giving him chance to change his mind, in case he wanted to use his channel energy before Corgan was wounded.
Thovar touches Olo's shoulder, channeling healing energy into his cousin. Then Levistus attempts to daze Lorg Corgan once more, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18, who merely roars at Levistus, "your pitiful attempts at magic are useless against me, a true master of the arcane arts!"
Alerion bounds forwards, leaping from the stool before him up onto the table to thrust at the aberration, Acrobatics 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11, Attack 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14, but his blade is deflected harmlessly away.
Caelwyn fires his arrow, but it narrowly misses the Crocodile King's head, thanks to the protective magics surrounding him.
The beast lowers his jaws in another attack against Olomorn, 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8, but the shock of Alerion rushing towards him throws his aim wide.
Olomorn, sensing an opportunity from Lord Corgan's clumsy attack, cuts deeply into the aberration's side.

![]() |

Thovar grips his warhammer again and steps up to Lord Corgan, swinging as hard as he can and then quickly raising his shield in defense...
Step up to I8 and attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17; damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 EDIT: attack roll is actually 18 and damage is 7 due to bardic music!

![]() |
Caelwyn sustains his Oratory, "Skin his hide and go for a ride" and fires another arrow at the experiment gone awry.
After Levistus: Move to E9 & Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 :p
Inspire Courage: +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
2 rounds left. (Nobody ever said Caelwyn was good at the lyrics/script, but he has great delivery!)

![]() |

Olo smiles as he feels his wounds close up and upon hearing Caelwyn's song shakes his head: "...go for a ride. Abadar forgive me, the music is alwful but it is improving my aim. I'm starting to enjoy this odd crew..."
Olo brings his axe down...
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d12 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

![]() |

Thovar swings his hammer towards the Crocodile King, but the magical shield protecting him absorbs most of the impact, preventing any harm.
Levistus' reaches out again at Lord Corgan's mind, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20, but again he scowls at the sorcerer and continues his assault, "Pitiful!" he exclaims.
Alerion lunges at Corgan from his place upon the table, 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25, 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24, 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8(oops, +2), and the sharp blade pierces into the aberration's neck, sending a spurt of blood against the wall.
Caelwyn fires again, but shoots too high, the arrow bouncing against the wall of the cavern before clattering to the ground.
Grasping at his wounded neck, Lord Corgan spins around to bite at Alerion, 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19, 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14, who crumples heavily to the ground with a scream of pain.
Olomorn swings at the Crocodile King to exact vengeance, cutting deeply into his exposed flank.
Map
Sorry about the delay, my internet has been down since yesterday.
Current Order: Thovar, Levistus, Alerion, Caelwyn, Lord Corgan, Olomorn.
the music is alwful but it is improving my aim.
Only because that's the fastest way to shut him up!

![]() |

Thovar steps to H9 and attacks again: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12, but his swing once again fails to penetrate Lord Corgan's armor. Hopefully he will be able to get to Alerion and heal him in time..
