Caelwyn looks to Alerion with a question on his face. Knowing something is afoot despite his infamously poor perception, Caelwyn readies himself for combat.
Alerion shrugs off Caelwyn's questioning look and motions everyone forward. He readies his bow, hoping to take out their target quickly from the shadows.
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 notorious, I say.
Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Alerion's Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Caelwyn is trying to get within 30'(unnoticed), and is readied to cast grease if he can tell that he has been noticed.
Alerion is trying to get in a sneak attack with his shortbow, so 30'.

The troglodyte's eyes widen at the sight of his apparent comrade's missing tongue, "What happene—" it begins just as Alerion's arrow lodges into its chest.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
After loosing his arrow, Alerion hears a gasp of surprise from behind him. "There's another one!" he calls out.
Map: The trog at N4 is your illusion.

Initiative? If so: 1d20-1.
Oops, I knew I was forgetting something:
Thovar: 17Levistus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Caelwyn 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Alerion 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Olomorn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Troglodytes 1d20 ⇒ 16
Caelwyn, Olomorn, Thovar, Trogs, Levistus, Alerion

Do we have a surprise round, or just Alerion. Doesn't change my action either way... Illusion is moving to M5, DC 13 to disbelieve. Caelwyn will be drawing his bow if he gets a move action.
Edit: that sounds fine Calix.
The tongueless Trog rushes forward to distract and block the real Trog from moving.

![]() |

We'll assume Thovar was moving during the "surprise" round to get to his current position. FYI, the duration of longstrider is 1 hour- how long do I have left?

![]() |

Thovar rushes forward and attacks, making sure to keep his shield up as well!
Move 40' to N5 and attack the trog at M6: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4; damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5. Dang, miss.

I move up to T3 with my ax out....ready to attack anyone who come up to me...
Errr, you just move across the channel to stand in front of Thovar? I am assuming you mean your doing a move action toward the trogs and holding a strike but I've been wrong before.

![]() |

I think I might have prepared an extra spell by mistake. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I should have 1 spell + 1 bonus spell + 1 domain spell, meaning I have an extra spell. If that's the case I'll stop having magic weapon prepared. Not sure how I ended up with an extra spell.

Yup - that's correct....sorry I wasn't clear. I didn't want to get in anyone's way with ranged weapons, sneak attacks...etc...but actually I'm short so that may not be a problem...I'll move to R3 then - unless that interferes with anyone.
EDIT: I was looking at the wrong map! Groan! I'm move up to Q 5 if possible.

Your correction is right as far as I can tell. You should have 1 spell + 1 bonus spell + 1 domain spell like you said.
EDIT: Ok, Olo has spoken so it looks like it's Trog Time! Hehe, you know, these guys scare me at 1st level.....just sayin

Fort saves:
Olomorn 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Thovar 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Alerion 1d20 ⇒ 14
Caelwyn 1d20 ⇒ 13
As Olomorn moves forward to meet the Troglodytes, he find himself gagging on their foul stench and is sickened for 1 minute.
The Troglodytes advance, the one to the north clawing at Alerion around the corner, and the other two lashing out at Thovar.
Alerion: two claws 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3), 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 4 = -1 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5). Bite 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 4 = 0 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2)
Thovar: two claws 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 4 = 8 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2), 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 4 = 9 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5). Bite 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 4 = -1 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4)
two claws 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2), 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3). Bite 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3)
A single claw digs into Thovar's arm, dealing 2 points of damage, while the rest of the assault proves fruitless.
Trogs are now in M 2,5 and 6.
Levistus...

Almost masked by the sounds of combat, a sudden splash sounds from the pool in the middle of the chamber and the tooth filled maw of a crocodile is launched towards Alerion 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 (miss). The crocodile, suspended half out of the water snaps menacingly.
Oops, I forgot about the illusion (1d20 ⇒ 5, 1d20 ⇒ 6 - both failed), I'll say that the first trog spent a full round trying to pull the illusion to safety, while the second will fill the gap to attack (and miss) Thovar.

![]() |

Alerion draws his rapier, and thrusts out at the crocodile (1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5, 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2). Seeing his blade scrape harmlessly along the reptiles scales, he steps back down the corridor, away from its vicious teeth.
new round, new map.
Caelwyn, Olomorn, Thovar, Trogs, Levistus, Crocodile, Alerion

Caelwyn abandons his illusion with a wave of his hand. Taking a step back, Caelwyn casts a new spell in the direction of the enemy. With a few arcane words, a layer of grease coats the ground beneath the Croc and a Trog. With his spells depleted, Caelwyn draws his bow, and prepares to strike.
Grease centered on the intersection of L2 & M3, 10' square, Reflex DC 13 to Trog and Croc or they fall.
This is assuming the Trog at M5 is my illusion... if this is not so, I'll cast it on that side.

![]() |

The way I see it, the illusion would have either moved when the troglodyte tried to pull it, or it would have end when it grabbed it. The trog to the south of the crocodile is dazed, do you still want to target that one?
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2, 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Both the crocodile and the troglodyte tumble to the ground, the crocodile scrambling to maintain its position out of the water.
Olo's blade cuts deeply into the reptile's scales, causing it to snap angrily towards him.

![]() |

Thovar takes a 5' step back (to O5) and casts shield of faith on Olomorn. "May Abadar's Shield protect you, cousin!"
Olo has a +2 deflection bonus to AC for 10 rounds.

![]() |

The troglodyte to the north and the wounded troglodyte to the south move forward in an attempt to flank Olomorn (You can take an Attack of Opportunity), 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18, the wounded troglodyte slips slightly on the greasy ground, but catches himself. The prone troglodyte lies dazed beside the crocodile.
The troglodytes then lash out at the dwarf betwen them with their claws.
first: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
second: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Despite the protective blessing from Thovar, both claws cut into Olo's flesh. causing a total of 7 points of damage (assuming they survive the attack of opportunity).

"Praise Abadar cousin!"
Olo brings his ax down...his face looking a bit green...
Attack/Damage roll 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 191d12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Second Attack/Damage roll - if I can actually attack twice - not sure if I am only allowed only one Attack of Opportunity without any special ablity/feat.....1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d12 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

You only get the one without Combat Reflexes. Which trog do you want to attack?

![]() |

Ok, if I understand correctly, both the crocodile and dazed trog are prone in the grease leaving only one trog currently able to attack us. Tha being the case Levistus casts Daze on the only Trog still standing that is attacking Olomorn.
Levistus again says a quick arcane word and flings something small at the trogs eyes.

Will Save: 1d20 ⇒ 13 - fail
The upright troglodyte begins to readjust itself for another swing at Olo, but suddenly becomes distracted by Levistus' gesture and stares blankly over the dwarf's shoulder.
The Crocodile attempts to right itself, 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9, but contines to slip on the greasy coating on the ground. From its compromised position, it lunges out at Olomorn with its powerful jaw, 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 4 = 14, but that too proves fruitless.
Alerion thrusts out at the dazed troglodyte with his rapier, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6, 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6, and steps into the water channel to protect Olomorns flank.

Caelwyn draws back his bow and looses an arrow at the nearest Troglodyte.
5' step to Q3 and attack 1d20 + 1 damage 1d8 + 1 (includes shooting into melee penalty)
Crit confirm 1d20 + 1 damage 1d8
Longbows are x3, and point blank shot damage is multiplied too, so you deal an additional 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 damage.
Caelwyn's arrow lodges itself into the troglodyte heavily but the creature still stands, similarly the crocodile refuses to succumb to Olomorn's powerful strike.
