Want to Submit articles to the monthly newspaper THE REASON and be on the Mailing List? email me: reddeerrun(at)hotmail(dot)com

TITLE: Submissions - THE REASON

I've just done the awesome logo and Broadsheet layout...collecting submissions for january issue.

What should be in it? RPG/Gaming articles, Politics, Poetry and Fiction, NPCs?

Dunno - what's the reason?

:p

Seriously though, want to give a precis about what The Reason is about?

Wanna link us a mock up so we can all see/comment?

The Exchange

Nothing as of yet...Care to submit some ideas? Frankly a newspaper equivelent of off-topic discussions would fit the bill but should it be more about Gaming?

What would make it a good newspaper? What was in the First Newspaper ever printed? Politics? Or Crop reports?

Should it be Golarion setting News reports that can serve as adventure Ideas?

The Exchange

Considering the thread 'I miss Bi-partisan Debate' by Patrick Curtin, we might offer THE REASON as an International Newspaper for the Readership of whom ever desires to be on the mailinglist and submit articles - as a definate 'óff topic' style Newspaper.

But still it should be open to gaming...this is precisely why I need pool of Ideas as to what would go in it.

I'd be up for it. Could submit reviews of various gaming products (older stuff too). I'd love to have my own Magic Item of the Month column.

This sounds cool. A newspaper about gaming? Could be big. Of course, there are already many newsletters and magazines, but this sounds like a pretty nice idea if pulled off right.

Or a monthly 'rethinking the magic item' in which we take existing Magic items and using the same enchantment process create something different.

The Camera Obscura

This is a crystal ball dimensionally inverted and upsized so that it functions as a spherical projection room in which a wizard can stand inside and look in all directions as though it were a Crystal ball. Effectivly this is the top floor of the Wizard's Tower or King's Watch Tower.

End User: Tyrants looking for the ultimate in police state surveillance technomagic or War Room.

Now that's awesome. I'm borrowing that if you don't mind.

Ideas on content, and submissions to the OP email would be better...

Maybe you should have a Postbag section, too. Or, better yet, an entire Opinion page.

The Exchange

Opinion Column...hmmm...
POKING THE KOBOLD

Post bag is a bit of a waste as it is really going to anyone who cares to submit an article and/or be on the e-mail list unless we expand to have Paizo offer it as a free download.

The Exchange

OK...Ive done an 'issue one'...as a PDF.

If you want on the mailing list, email me.

Actually Kobold Cleaver, we need a postbag...

if simply to keep abreast of criticism by those who read this as to its direction.

A free newspaper that people are yet to contribute to...a google doc...I should hit you with a mule.

Gave it a scan over after I D/L'd it, text is kinda small and the graphs are hard to read because they're sideways. Haven't gotten a chance to sit down and read the whole thing through yet.

Just got a little idea. What if, rather than focusing on 'mainstream' gaming stuff, The Reason focused on more obscure games? Like Grimm, and Ars Magica (assuming that neither of those have copywrite protections)? I mean, it could still contain Pathfinder, but I think a newspaper discussing a wide range of RPGs could be popular.

Interesting...could be or we could go generic so you can take what we do for what ever setting you choose.

Anyway email me at the Original Post email and I'll send issue 1.Havnt checked if anyone has contributed in two weeks so it may be huge.

Do it now...just in case i missed you while I didnt have internet for 14 days...apparently Some of those requesting 'The Reason - Mailing List' were moved automatically into Junk and deleated after 10 days so if I havnt sent you the Submissions Word Document probably not.
