What's the problem with it? (I'm ignorant)

The Boomstick? Yeah. It's the only one I'm interested in reading because of its modern->fantasy cross-over blend / mechanics.

C'mon Pat, shouldn't you be pre-empting for more snow to shovel out of your driveway? :P

First off, my computer is on the far right wall of the house at the end of the wireless range and my connection sucks. Second off, the computer is slow as molasses even with 1 gig of ram.

I think I've just stepped through a temporal ripple or something. I swear I read Urizen's post above, THEN replied in the "things that suck" thread... but the boards say it was the other way around. O_o

Feh. No more snow here. It's raining now O.o

My desktop at home has one GIG of RAM and I can manage. Maybe you need to upgrade to a newer router or move your desktop? Or maybe move the files onto a USB or external drive and bring 'em over? I'm a dunce, so I fail to see the difficulty. :P

Are you trying to tell me something? I'm trying to read between the lines. :P

Okay, so now you need sandbags for the flash flood?

BTW, I stand corrected. You have the only other PbP I'd be interested in reading, but I think it stands dormant now too. (Your Post Apoc setting, I think...).

It actually is active but stuttering right now, I am waiting for a new dude to introduce his character. We lost a lot of folks right before a battle and it skrewed things up a bit.

EDIT: If you have any interst in Planescape, this is the PbP to watch:

Shameless plug

The new computer has a wireless internal n router, so I once I get my Dual Band Wirless N Gigabit router set up, I'll be golden. No more wireless worries; I'll be zipping along.

My mom's Netbook has no software to run my MS Word documents. ;) And since her netbook is under warrany, I'm not taking the chance of violationg it by installing the OEM software that came with my PC.

Ahhhh... If you had said mom's netbook and not mom's laptop, then I would have stopped days ago. :P

I got 14 minutes until liberation, but as usual the woman wants me to pick up some more fruitcake on the way home. Apparently, I'm hearing that lots of people LOVE fruitcake. :P

So long as it isn't hard as a rock, I'll tolerate it.

My post way above.... Don't read.

Don't do the whole Facebook/Myspace/whatever thing. Been fairly lazy about filling out my profile here, as well....

So! FAWTLites, I beseech you!

I'm stone-bored out of my skull due to being stuck at home while attempting to remedy myself of my unemployment, and would like something to do with my time. I figure getting involved in a PbP might be an option, heard good things scattered across the boards... but I have no blinking idea where to start.

No, that's the Braidwood Inn, a motel.

I had family living in Wichita back in the 80s and they moved to Ohio in the early 90s. I remember my family came out to visit them for a long weekend and we stayed at the Braidwood Hotel.

FREEDOM!!!!!!!

May your buckles and her bosoms be plentiful of mistletoes.

Auf Wiedersehen!

Seacrest Out.

Liberty's Edge

Look for somebody advertizing a game in the "gamer connection area," or maybe start one if you're feeling rascally.
A game will pop up every few days.
There's way more people that want to play than gamemaster though, so it's a dungeonmaster's market.
The other way is to check out some ongoing games and say in their discussion thread "your game rocks; can I be on a waiting list?" If a game goes on a while, there's always bound to be some attrition.
I got into Aubrey's Eberron game that way, then he started a ROTRL game, and then I started my own game.

MERRY HOLIDAZE!

Liberty's Edge

I think that there's a lot of games that might be slow going right now.
In my game, we just leveled, and two people leveled up; the rest are probably busy due to the holidays so it's listing in the horse latitudes at the moment.

Yeah, I'm kinda already running a PbP in another area and one game IRL, I'd like to dive onto the other side of the screen for a while :P

You just kinda gotta wait until one's advertized if that's the case.
A ravenloft one popped up yesterday; don't know if it's full up or whatever, but they DO tend to fill up fast around here.

I'm seeing that. Heh.

I imagine it has. I left Wichita in 1985, just before my senior year of high school.
What school???

Derby High School. Not technically in Wichita, but that's where the AF kids got shipped.

Dragons Wars with the RiffTrax commentary. It made the movie so much better. :)

Am I supposed to read the graphic novel or watch the movie to actually understand what's going on in its proper context? I was just really bummed we weren't talking about the test itself. When I am shown them, I see.

** spoiler omitted **

Read the graphic novel. It really delves into the characters so much more than the movie could.

Woot, might have gotten lucky, seem to have stumbled into one that just got posted this morning or so. Thanks Heath!

I get that if I try to post on two separate threads in two different tabs. It can be a little embarrassing when a FaWTL!!! post ends up someplace a bit more serious. :)

Well, at least it didn't misplace the posts, just seemed to flip the "time posted" stamps. The posts were in their proper threads thankfully.

And thank the gods for the Delete function.

Ooops. I misread what you posted. That's not so bad.

I have used the delete function a few times.
