Well, it certainly looks good, in a "movie starring Nick Cage" kind of way. Yeah, the plot's going to be silly, and the acting's probably going to be so bad it's good, but at least it's a movie about mages that doesn't star a young British boy.

Also, does anyone have an irrational hatred of the title itself for daring to compare itself to something better than it?

I saw the long preview for this last night on G4TV, during AOTS I believe. It looks like a lot of fun and it is being made by Disney, though it is live-action, and is very loosely based on the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment from Fantasia.

It almost looks like it's done to apeal to the harry Pottr crowd. Howver, it's from the people who brought us Pirates, National Treasure, ad te CSI trio so it should be really good.
