Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

It boggles the mind. It is not even mine.

Back before 2009 June I pledged to a serviceman on these boards that I would bring them videos from PaizoCon '09. It seemed easy enough. I was there, and I had an "ok" Hard Drive Sony Video Camera. As it turned out, 6000 times this community has viewed these videos I made and posted to UTube. I am nothing really. Just a guy like the rest of you.

I am not a guy that likes holding video cameras "in lieu" of actually feeling a genuie experience. I hate being the guy recording everything with the camera!

This time around, I was just trying to bring something special to a serviceman that couldn't be there to see Paizo blossom (before it's most devoted fanbase).

I met "Boomer" at PaizoCon and I love the guy. James McKenzie (Sir Wulf) told me how Pathfinder Society works and how to optimize my character. Larcifer (Larry Wilhelm) completely statted out my character while I had a brain meltdown prepping for the Interactive Fiction Workshop. I even played Star Wars RPG with Mearrin69 on the last somber day of the convention.

These videos were not what I intended. These videos were not "how I saw myself" at the convention. They were for you...all of you, and not me. As for me, I would rather write about Pathfinder stories than edit and package these things, but the heck with me. I am a perfectionist first, and by Golarion's Gods I rather give you something special than throw up some choppy entertainment that does Paizo disservice. There has been a lot of congratulating going on for Paizo lately (hiring in a recession), but I will again thank Lisa Stevens for making these videos possible. She gave me the "green light" and didn't even blink.

Matter of fact, the friendly South Park Icon doesn't even do her justice. You are much better off drinking dark beer and pretending you are with Lisa Stevens, because your imagination of how meaningful it will be will barely match the real experience.

I posted these videos through PathfinderChronicler, but I have found that they play better if you go to youtube PathfinderChronicler and watch them from the source. I am humbled and subdued by this community.

You doing it again this go 'round, Zux? I may be able to bring another tripod if you are and are interested in not having to hold the camera.

I would be more than happy to colloaborate with you on this one zylphtyx!

You are amazing, Zuxius! We appreciate all your efforts. Thanks, especially, for looking after the gamers who serve our country in the military.

Yea, just imagine if we all went to the trouble. They would feel like kings returning from victory (maybe that is going to far). Thank you Laserray, we appreciate all the support you have given us and we are looking forward to seeing you around PaizoCon 2010, hopefully.

SirUrza, you are very welcome!

Those vids are great, so no wonder they have so many views (and many more to come)

These vids were a great service to those of us who could not go.

Thanks again, Zuxius.

As one of those military members who benefited from your hard work, Zux, I can say that the videos are greatly appreciated. Thanks for not only taking on the responsibility, but also for taking the time do them well.

We service members who are also gamers are grateful for folks like you.

(The fact that we're co-conspirators at PathfinderChronicler.net does not make me at all biased. ;-) )

Sterling work, Ted! I was at most of those filmed seminars and I still enjoyed watching them again just to reminisce...but also to catch up on the one or two I couldn't make. I certainly hope you (or someone) films them again next year.

Thanks a lot guys. Those comments help a lot. I really wish I had done something else with my remaining summer after the convention, but it appears that the videos were it. There is only so much of my time to go around, perhaps not writing for a change will have given me a new vigor when I write.

On the otherhand, I might get out of practice and become old, fat, bald, dumb and stupid , thus missing my window for writing greatness. Perhaps if I shave off my remaining hair and grow a gotee, then...just maybe...with an intsy bit of magic...all my dreams will come true.

Also, start following folks around with the camcorder. I'd say, Mona, the Chief, and Bulmahn, for starters. They're so busy, they probably won't even notice.

You could start practicing at home. Start following your friends and family around while trying not to be noticed. They'll appreciate your enthusiasm.

Wow, investigative journalist eh? The dirty side of Paizo. Paizo paparazzi! Maybe I could wear a brown 50's style hat with a paper slipped into it and a pencil stuck in under my ear. Also, I could have a bald head with one super long piece of hair swirled around and around coated with some disgusting grease to hold it down. I could wear those black birth control glasses that the Army issued me and hunt down roach infested connie hot dog stands with foreign speaking polish guys. Naturally I would be chain smoking in the press room hanging out by telephone booths. I could make a career of this I think.
