I'm sat at home for the second day, waiting for someone to come and fix my central heating
background: over summer, I had an entire new heating system put in (not cheep). Anyway, come october, its time to turn it on. i do so, only to find the thermostat isn't working - its not telling the system to come on when its cold, and go off when warm, its just sending random signals
so, i get the guy who installed it out - who confirms its faulty, and they will send someone to fix a new one. and, until then, he sets my heating on manual - so, i can turn it on when i'm cold, and off when i'm not, but i can't, for example, set it to come on on a timer just before i get up, or to go off when its warm enough
well, one month later, he is due today. last time i took a full day off work, and he ended up not turning up - turns out the company gave him my address wrong & gave him someone elses phone number!

Nothing worse that taking a precious day off work and the person you are waiting on not turning up, or turning up so late that you would have been home from work at that time anyway.
I am lucky at the moment as my husband is studying so is home most of the time. Though when he gets his degree (hopefully this year) we will go back to the situation that we have to take days off to wait around for people.
