I really wish I had gone to this last PaizoCon! I have decided I am definately coming to the next one (still waiting for the official announcement regarding when in June etc)
My question is to those of you that went to this last one:
Can you give me a basic idea of what the cost was so I can start getting a handle what my costs will likely be for PaizoCon III?
How much were hotel rooms? Did most people stay in the same hotel the Con was held or were there other hotels within walking distance. What did rooms cost? How much was the Con itself?
Anyone fly from the North East? What did air fare run?
Thanks!!!

Hey Marc! Glad to hear that you're coming next year!
Hotel rooms ran about $110-125 a night. For downtown Bellevue, that is a pretty fair price. Most people did stay in the hotel (unless they were locals or had local friends/family to stay with), as the other hotels nearby are going be the same price, if not more expensive. Plus, if Ted brings more of that delicious beer again, you will really want to be able to just stumble back to your room. ;-)
Price of PaizoCon II was $30, plus $5 more for the banquet ticket. That was a SUPER deal, btw.
I'm local, so I can't answer airfare questions. The only other cost I can quantify is the "Meet and Eat" event we throw the night before PaizoCon at a local restaurant. Cost for that is typically in the $30-$40 range (a good meal plus a couple drinks).
Oh, and bring extra cash for the Paizo Store on-site in the lobby. Lots o' stuff to buy!

My fiancee and I stayed at the Coast Bellevue (the Hotel PaizoCon was held). While many people shared rooms with more than 2 people, sharing is most definitely the best way to do it. Coast was holding a "special" where if you prepaid a few months in advance you got a better rate. Nani and I did this and got the suite room (two floors, bottom as a "living" area which is great for gaming, and an upper for sleeping etc.). We stayed from Thursday to Monday morning. Total cost for hotel (including all taxes etc.) was a little over $90 a night, i.e. $45 a person per night.
I'm not sure how applicable this is to you, but from flying out of Atlanta with a direct flight we were able to get tickets for about $210 per ticket. With a cost of ~70 to get to and from the hotel each way then food etc. I'd put the total cost at about just under $1,000. Considering we had an awesome time, met some great people, and saw the best publishing company out there.... I'd call it completely worth it. Hope this helps!

In the coming weeks, we hope to release new information about PaizoCon 2010. A contract is signed to return to the Coast Bellevue Hotel and I hope to release all other relevant information ASAP (dates, prices, etc). Give us a few more weeks and I think we'll have all the specific details up for everyone. :-)

Thought I posted a response, but apparently not ... or the post was eaten by the board monster. Nom-nom-nom.
I ended up with about $1300 out of pocket, but also well worth it. It broke down to ~$365 for the hotel (Coast Bellevue - 4 nights), ~$385 for the flight (out of a regional airport in western NC), brought ~$300 along for the ride (and returned with cash in pocket when I got back) and ~$350 for kenneling costs (for 4 of my 5 dogs ... the husky mix stayed with friends).
But as has been said, stay at the con hotel. Very much worth it for the after hours stuff and not having to worry about getting stuck in traffic en route to your first event ... or getting those extra 20 minutes sleep after a late night of after hours stuff. :)

You're married to a Chel? My suggestion is just to divorce her and take some hot Osiriani babe on a weekend date to Seattle instead. Better all around.

Sorry Yoda, but I'm not asking you to be my date for PaizoCon, even if I do manage to escape the clutches of my vial Chelaxian.
