Does Paizo have plans to publish novels set in the Pathfinder setting?
I'm new to the setting and wanted to get a feel for it without having to buy a ton of stuff up front... and, besides, I love reading fiction in general.
If there are stories that have been released as part of other products, are there any collections of just the fiction?

Yes, Paizo plans to publish novels. The Pathfinder Fiction line will probably be up and running as of next year sometime. The last thing I heard on it was from Wes Schneider (or Erik?) at PaizoCon in June, "If I'm not selling you a Pathfinder novel by next PaizoCon, I'll be telling you when it will be for sale."
The only current fiction (other than lots of little awesome intro pieces scattered *everywhere*) are the Pathfinder Journal entries in each of the Pathfinder Adventure Path volumes. They have not been collected anywhere. 6 pages per book. The first 18 are a connected arc.

but there were actually 2 stories in the Wayfinder actually appearing in Pathfinder Chronicler, even if at the time only was Road of Varno... and cof cof when Zux finish working on it... his story in Quadira about the travels of a certain pathfinder called Suri will be there... or SO is the idea :P

I worked my tail off on that piece, and I will basically being doing that nonstop during the month of October and November. Unfortunately, I have one last video to create before I call my video work over.
Pathfinder Fiction Discussion from PaizoCon '09
I can't think of anything more relevant to our Pathfinder Chronicler Site than that discussion. I have to do it.
My work on getting that video out has been delayed by (of all things) BEER BREWING. Good God! I made 80 gallons of beer this summer. I really do have over 100 bottles of beer on my wall.
Thank the heavens for Lager Season and their longer ferment times. I want to get back to my Pathfinder Roots.

Please, please, please, do not rush this. Mistakes over mysteriously size-changing swords and sloppy find/replaces ('sHell' anyone?) are something I would like to see avoided by Paizo when they venture into the market with novel-length fiction for one of their own worlds for the first time.
I should note that the day we start talking about a project in house and the day we start talking about it publicly are not the same day. We've been working on a fiction line and figuring it out for months... years even.

No worries—we have a plan. We put an ad on Craigslist asking people to e-mail us one-page writing samples, and we'll cut-and-paste the first 356 responses into a Word document. Then, we auto-number the pages, add a chapter header on any page that seems short, and send that puppy to the printer!

I suggest, that before anyone comments on their fears or worries that they watch the videos that I am preparing. Starting with video 1!
In my opinion, you are just wasting valueable editor time that could be used on more pressing issues. The videos will take care of 90% of your thoughts. If you have something different to ask that isn't covered in the videos, than shoot away.

That's pretty close to how William S. Burroughs wrote Naked Lunch, subject of the last obscenity trial in the US for a written work. Except he worked from newspaper snippets and the like.
Burroughs + Golarion...this has potential. :)

Heck given a spout of boredom and some reading from the campaign setting I could have a draft out in several months... if I didn't have this annoying thing called a job -_-
There are alot of people out there that would write fiction, good fiction even, for Pathfinder. The problem is connecting the dots between Paizo and the authors!
