Karate Kid

Movies

So, I was scrying youtube the other day, and I found the movie Karate Kid out there, split into parts. Since, I had not seen it in quite a while, I watched it again. Wow, it is still a really good movie.

What I really enjoyed is the alternate endings people have created, and posted. Hahaha! Daniel-san actually losing was much more realistic.

Now you have to watch this.

Excellent

"Sweep the leg, Johnny."

Thank you pres man! AWESOME!

The Exchange

That was FuN

The Karate Kid is my favourite `coming of age`movie of all time. I`ve watched it dozens of times and just love it.

The Exchange

I was always Cobra Kai

Isn't Karate, Japanese? Shouldn't that be the Kung-Fu Kid? Frankly that movie just looks painful (to watch).

From what I just saw in that trailer, Will Smith's kid shows great form for his age. I am seriously impressed.

Yeah, the movie's probably going to be bad. Still, it's good to see Jackie in a movie that doesn't need a laugh track. Besides, at least some of the action is good.

The final scene of the trailer where Jackie Chan's Miagi uses the fly swatter to "catch" the fly has me hooked. I will watch this. I hope it is good, I fear the worst from hollyweird however. Most movies in my humble opinion are horrid. Great special effects and poor execution and worse plots.

As good as Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan may be in this, I think they've just made the "Daniel" character too young to carry off the premise believably (I hope I'm wrong, but...)

Oh, yeah, and I think Mr. Miyagi would kick Jackie Chan's heinie (the characters, not the actors).

Jackie Chan would "paint the fence" in Miyagi's gore.

sides split from laughing so hard

There is only one Mr. Miyagi and that is Pat Morita. This trailer just doesn't impress.

I think going for a younger target audience was a smart move, because let's face it, there's no way they could have made a better version for us old farts.

Karate kid, with no Karate.
Set in China, with a Chinese Sifu, learning a Chinese art (Kung-Fu).

Kung-Fu Kid would be more apt.

I like Jackie Chan, so I'd watch him, but this movie is NOT Karate Kid in any way shape or form.

Personally I think this thing is going to blow harder than the gale that sunk the Spanish armada.
