I just discovered that Seoni, and the rest of the book will be printed in China. What with all the human rights issues (no, I haven't bothered to check into the specific printer Paizo will be using, but they're in China they must be doing something evil if they are in China !!!!) I think Paizo should really seriously consider the Moral implications of a book printed in China.

Besides, shouldn't we be printing in Amerika? Where is your national pride, Comrades? I won't buy this book, or any other from Paizo, while they continue to use foreign printers, especially from Communist, child-labor-using, human-rights violating printing companies.

That's just sexist! Valeros doesn't have a 'Ball Check' modifier to his Acrobatics to represent mechanical difficulties stemming from oversized sexual characteristics! Or are they suggesting that he's a eunuch or something?

You're right. I am terribly sorry. I did not mean to imply that he was a male elf! :(

Spoiler:
An oxymoron if I every heard one. Elf males, ha ha ha!! :P Like there is such a thing. ROFLMAO!!

Well, personal studies have shown that pronounced male genetalia can be a stabilising force in acrobatic activities, since they provide balance and lower the gravity centre.

Why do you think the general performance of male acrobats has taken a plunge ever since that misplaced sence of modesty and unhealthy emphasis on clothes has swept the world?

There's a saying among tightrope walkers: "Don't walk with your hands, just drop your pants"

There's no way Seoni could have that many ranks in acrobatics unless you have failed to include my suggested 'breast size check' penalty. I posted extensively on the penalties that Seoni would have performing any acrobatics maneuver and provided a formula for determining penalties based on cupsize for all PCs.

It took me three months of hanging out in the gym during Phys. Ed. to come up with these calculations and I suffered three black eyes for it. If Paizo doesn't appreciate the hard work we put in, why should we bother!?!?

I think that the reason that they have not included the "Breast Check" modifier would be because they did not also (for game "balance" reasons) want to factor in the social [::nudge, nudge, wink, wink::] bonuses that she would be entitiled to while performing acrobatics.

If you had studied Ralph Gnollman's dissertation on A System for Balancing Social Modifiers for Highly Interactive Gameplay before he was viciously hounded from these boards, you would know that what you are saying is a blatant lie. I don't understand why Paizo allows people to continuously defame Ralph like this unless they are jealous of his superior gamer-fu.

If they do that, I stop subscribing. You Americans and your so-called "war for freedom" can stay home! As a proud German European, I refuse to to buy books printed on us wood, cobbled together by some hillbilly who dropped out of preschool because of pregnancy.

If anything, move production to Germany. "Made in Germany" is a warrantor for high quality still!.

And everyone could read their books with the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that everyone who worked on the production had a health plan!

Liberty's Edge

All the attention here is creating too much hype. There is no way the next preview will live up to expectations. But hype is hype, and that means we will all hold on to our expectations and ignore the actual form the next preview takes.

Congratulations everyone. You killed it. It's already dead.

Now I'll have to buy the RPG and Bestiary as memorials to a cherished system dead from murdered potential. I don't appreciate having to buy dead things.

Now the funny thing will be if Paizo switches previews and instead of Seoni, previews something like - new rules for traps.

Actually, I wanted to make them fiendish half-dragon kobold ducks, or duckbolds (koducks?). They need to be a LA 0 core race or I'm going to go back to using Toon as my rules system of choice.

You're right.

Paizo folks, is it too late to ask for a copy of the PFRPG made out of ShamWows(tm) instead of paper? They're made in Germany, and you know the Germans make good stuff.

This would certainly be useful in those spilled drink incidents one has at the game table. :) Maybe they can print shamwow character sheets too!

I'd hate to carry that book, well, hate is a strong word, but still, at 500+ pages it'll be flipping hard, so to speak! So I wote for them to make shamwow pages thinner to alleviate the thickness issue... Why isn't stuff like that taken into consideration!?

Mostly because of the total disconnect between the publisher and their spill-prone fanbase.

Utter. Total. Win. This sentence perfectly summarizes all of the ungrounded complaints and comments I've seen all around the internet in respect to Pathfinder. Well done.

CR

Actually it was just a late night silly comment from me but thanks, and yes, such things are about the same thing I see from the typical complaints.

"I don't like the fact that Paizo's products cannot auto-correct my ignorance, so I'm going to go play something else."

The new Sorcerer is too powerful. She can cast spell,...many spells. Not good......sorry failed ny will save and got confused. She is too weak. Why can she use the whole spell list just like the beguiler? And she still has to use components worth 250 gp when casting stoneskin. It's outrageous. Outrageous is also the fourth and final single released from Britney Spears' fourth studio album. Coincidence? I think not. Paizo is probably in league with all the major record companies. Soon we all have to read out loud lyrics by Britney or Eminem when our characters cast spells. What's next? Coca Cola advertising on every page?
Hey look, what's that in her hand. A soft drink? could it be?

I don't know why Paizo even bothered to "fix" the sorcerer. Nobody even played one in 3.5, and based on this preview (which I have yet to see, but am sure what it will contain), nobody will take one in pathfinder either.

AHHA! Proof Positive that Seoni does, indeed, have a familiar! and what a failure of a Familiar she has prooving that familiars were not turned into the auto win creatures that the Beta Test Demanded! Come, have the Wizards and Sorcerers not suffered in the back ranks of the party long enough? We demanded that they be given fierce and totally battle field dominant familiars who could make the fighter types cry in the spilled milk (as all fighter type players must drink milk and milk only, as noted in Veleros' write up) This sham of a character and her pathetic attempt at a familiar are proof positive of the failure of Paizo and their staff to do anything but dumb down the game and show to the world the death of the 3.5 RPG system and all it's entities.

With this I rest my case!

See? That settles it: Those island loonies cannot do anything original - they have to copy everything. That's why they use the American language instead of their own. And aren't wanted on the mainland. And have to recycle units of measurement as currency.

And they cannot do anything right, either: They cannot even drive on the right side of the road! And they try to look sophisticated by smuggling in extra letters into words.

And, for the last time, c-h-i-p-s are potato snacks you buy in bags. Those fried potato ch... THINGS you eat with ketchup are French Fries. YES! FRENCH! FRENCH FRENCH FRENCH! And keep your vinegar off them.

ANd don't get me started about tepid beer.

Mr. Bulmahn:

As the original poster, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks for listening to our outrageous and patently bizarre complaints concerning the as of yet unseen third preview.

I’d also like to extend thanks for dropping the preview of Seoni, as it could have provided clear and exciting information concerning the pending Pathfinder RPG release. Lord knows we don’t want that. A video of a hamster eating a pencil is wildly more appropriate, as it allows us, the unwashed masses, to wildly speculate about the upcoming release, unhindered by such trivialities such as facts and hard evidence.

Speaking of which:

The hamster eating a pencil video provides us with several invaluable false clues to the nature of the upcoming Pathfinder RPG:

1. Swallow whole rule changes. It is wildly obvious from the video that there is no longer a size limitation on what a size creature another creature can swallow. Suddenly Smaug has a lot to fear from a hungry, hungry halfling, eh?

Nor are there any rules for cutting your way out of the gullet; you have to have a companion pull you out via the mouth, subjecting both to a bite attack. This is a great explanation for the new CMD stat. CMD stands for Combat Maneuver - Dinner. This of course means CMB has been redefined as Combat Maneuver – Breakfast. I wonder why lunch was left out in the cold? Maybe for a second Pathfinder Handbook!

2. The Hamster itself. The confirmation of a second new core race (along with Ducks, Viking or otherwise) speaks highly of the new game. Nothing says kewl like the inclusion of two new races that no one was particularly asking for, and don’t fit into the current setting without major retooling.

Spoiler:
Like the inclusion of Mummies and Wraiths in the original WOD setting. Bet you thought I was taking a swing at 4E didn’t you? For shame.

I’m sure my fellow posters can add to this list. Thanks for putting up with this!

Go for the eyes, Boo!

After not reading about Seoni again it becomes clear that she is actually well balanced, which is actually unfair, if compared to all the other classes (especially those not published yet), since all other classes are unbalanced. Either the other classes are too good thus no one would want to play a sorcerer anymore, or the other classes are not good enough and then obviously everyone wants to play the sorcerer.
Obviously is obviously the most common used word by all German and Finnish F1 drivers which lead me to believe that Paizo obviously is in league with Max Mosley and it also proves Paizo has printed the book in Germany and they will be shipping it from Finland. If you have any doubt it all obvious. Max is obviously a role playing fan since he has been engaged in "sexual acts with five sex workers in a scenario that the paper said involved Nazi role-playing”. (Max obviously denied the Nazi theme involved, but he would probably deny an ogre mage theme too). And in WW2 Finland sided with Nazi Germany during their war against the Soviet Union. It all makes perfect sense....or not, but I’m still upset.

Well...

It's hard to think of a safer place to keep him. After all, he would get the benefits of any defensive spells (stoneskin, mage armor, blurr, shield, etc). On the other hand, haste might result in some rapid movements that would be... uncomfortable... to say the least.

And with that, I think I'll stop commenting on this comment thread, before it goes someplace none of us really want to go.
