I'm currently running RotRL and one of my players is going to be out of town for a couple of sessions. I don't really want go on through the main story with out him and I'm coming to a good point where the group can diverge from the story line a bit.
So, I was thinking of grabbing one or two of these scenarios to use to fill in a couple sessions until the player returns. I've never looked through one of these before, so I'm assuming that they're set up pretty much like a module. Is that true? Are they easy to adjust to non PFS games? Any suggestions on which one(s) to use? The party members are 5th level and I'd like something that is easy to transplant to Varisia. Thanks in advance for any help.

My suggestions (and none of these are a perfect fit) would be to either run #7, #10, or #21 given your location and level.
Thanks for the response Josh! Can you(or anyone else familiar with these) give me any insight on whether or not these scenarios are even appropriate for this purpose? Also, we typically play for about 7-8 hours per session, how long do these typically last?

They're designed for around 4 hours and sometimes run less and sometimes run more. You can read the synopses here.

#7 is set in a theatre, which could easily occur in Magnimar, or maybe even the Sandpoint theatre.
#10 is a haunted mansion which could easily be set anywhere within Varisia, similar scenario to Foxglove Manor.
I'm not yet familiar with #21 to offer any feedback.
Some scenarios are easier to adapt than others, but here are a few other suggestions:
#1 Silent Tide could occur in any large harbour city, eg Magnimar. Maybe the fleet raised from the dead could be some ancient Thassilonian threat?
#4 Frozen Fingers of Midnight could physically occur in any harbour city, though the plot is a bit of a random detour from the themes running through Runelords.
#5 Mists of Mwangi could occur in a museum of any location. Change the source of the idols from Mwangi to ancient Thassilon, the curse inflicted is similar to Sinspawn rage.
#9 Eye of the Crocodile King could be set in a magic academy somewhere in Magnimar, the troglodytes coming from the Mushfens, instead of the mountains.
#11 The Third Riddle could be an ancient Thassilonian ruin, instead of a pyramid in the desert. Replace the undead with sinspawn?
#13 The Prince of Augustana could be set in any city with a sewer system, the Prince claiming to be from any local noble or royal line (Korvosa?)
#17 Perils of the Pirate Pact could occur along the river journey between Magnimar and Turtleback Ferry (refer AP3: Hook Mountain Massacre)
Pathfinder Society scenarios usually timed to play for four hours. However, if you weave these into an existing home campaign, such as Runelords, your players might take more time to interact with the NPCs and situations presented.
Or, you could always run TWO scenarios back-to-back.

As the author of Scenario #21, I may as well weigh in on the possibility of converting it for use in Varisia. While originally set in Qadira, The Eternal Obelisk is very much a dungeon crawl scenario, so it can theoretically be moved anywhere with minimal conversion.
My suggestion would be to set The Eternal Obelisk in a swampy area near the Mushfens, and alter the creatures in the first encounter to better fit the terrain.

Thanks for the replies!
Robert: I picked up #21 per Josh's suggestion and am reading through it now. It looks really fun and I've already thought of a couple ways to implement it. I think that I will take your advise on the Mushfens.
Darkwhite: I'm looking through your suggestions and reading product descriptions. I do want to add a second scenario, so this is a big help. I'm trying to steer clear of undead and haunted houses for a bit, as they've been pretty beaten up by them recently.

have a look at #5 Mists of Mwangi... It is one of my favorites we've been through. Set in a museum and in essence a dungeon crawl- Night in the Museum kind of adventure. It was really fun from a player's point of view, and could easily be adapted to the themes of ROTRL.
