"guys who claim to be anarchists should spend some time in a place where true anarchy reigns. Then they'd find out what kind of homicidal sociopath you have to be to survive." - A US Marine commenting on Somalia just proir to the 'BLACK HAWK DOWN' incident.

The political philosophy(ies) of anarchy is not the same as the realist view of an anarchic natural state. The two share a name, but most anarchists are not looking for "state of nature". Indeed, the "Boston anarchist" school of thought is strikingly similar to hard-core capitalist industrialism.

LOL. There are a few women on that one I wouldn't mind "adding my distinctiveness to," if you know what I mean.

Well...Insecta are the most successful class of the kingdom Animalia. And colonial insects are pretty successful within the class.

And you know....we are genetically predisposed to group activity. I am not sure a see a biological reason why being a little more borg would be a bad thing :D

Erik: that is one of the funniest things i have seen in a very long time.

Nice one Heathy. You know, I can't help but notice that you can't have assimilation without ass.

What you notice is irrelevant.

Funny is irrelevant. Success is subjective, and as such is irrelevant.

Yeah, that seems about right. I'm an anarchist by philosophy, but a libertarian in practice.

I came up with a concept a while back that shows the inherent paradox of my brand of philosophical anarchy: people inherently look for government and leadership, so for my form of true anarchy, the absence of government would have to be enforced by an outside party.

It also scares me a bit that I can easily see myself becoming a homicidal sociopath given the correct circumstances. Hell, it runs in the family.
