Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Aruuna grins over her shoulder to Danguard as the droid is cut into parts, speaking quickly to him.

'Want to get the rest of these, boss?'

Turning to face the rest of the droids, she prepares to charge them down, and gets a blaster bolt in her shoulder for good measure, causing her to let out a rather nasty curse in Ryl. She pushes her rage at that to one side, and with a cry of 'For the Jedi!' charges at the droid closest to her, running over the difficult terrain with amazing ease.

Acrobatics Roll (1d20+7+1=28)

Having reached the droid, she tumbles past it with a quick movement of her feet...

Acrobatics Roll (1d20+7+1=21)

And slices in a backhanded downwards arc at the droid..

Attack Roll (1d20+2+5+1=27)
Damage Roll (2d8+1=6)

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

Klonsa eyes go wide with pain as he's shot in the arm. He closes his eyes for a few moments, concentrating on the living Force and willing the pain down to no more than a dull throb.

I'll just use 3 swift actions this turn to move up the condition track.

Danguard nods at Aruuna as he tightens his grip on his saber and looks over the remaining droids.

I try to close the gap and get into melee and swipe at a droid with my double lightsaber. I failed to navagate the difficult terrain well, and may not reach melee range, unless they are within half my move.

Unfortunately, Christy manages to get next to Danguard, but is still about two meters shy of the droid.

Aruuna manages to deftly run across the shieldleaf plants, and just within the droids reach she gracefully spins away from it before it can track her for a shot.

Aruuna's downward arc cuts into the droid substantially, but not quite far enough to destroy its inner working and put it out of commission. The droid is damaged by still functioning.

Aruuna is just opposite of Danguard on the other side of he droid (flanking).

Klonsa wrote:

Klonsa takes a moment to catch his breath and the pain of his injuries abate somewhat.

The dancing electrical motes begin to build up on surfaces again, the a charge begins to build in the air.

The arc builds up and discharges near Aruuna, but its fairly easy for her to sidestep the discharge as it dissipates with the smell of burning shieldleaf in the air.

Next Round

The two remaining droids take stock of the situation, and proceed in the only manner that they can. Since the lack higher processors, they proceed based on the simple instructions they were programmed with, and continue with their assault.

The far droid targets Aruuna and fires on her.

Total to hit 21.

The droid fires on the twi'lek Jedi and scorches her for 12 points of damage with his shot from the blaster he carries.

The droid that is currently surrounded by Jedi, lacking a heuristic processor, doesn't quite grasp that autofire might not be a bad idea at this point, and instead fires at Danguard.

At close range, the droid's shot goes off (natural 20 on the roll, for a total of 24 to hit), and does 14 points of damage to Danguard.

The motes begin to crawl across the surface of the area again, and another charge builds up. After a short crackling noise, a charge erupts and strikes the droid that is 30 meters from the ship (and about 16 meters from Aruuna, 20 meter from Danguard, and 22 meters from Christy).

The droid is damaged, but is not disabled by the charge.

Currently there are two droids left, both damaged. One is flanked by Danguard and Aruuna, with Christy 2 meters from it, and the other one is currently at a distance as described above.

Player's Turn this round

The PCs may begin taking their turns this round.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Ceelell looks from the droid out at a distance, realizing its far enough away that the shot would be risky. But the other threat is right near his friends, and he would much rather risk just missing then risk hitting one of his friends on accident. He takes a moment to steady himself and aim, just in case of any shelter, and takes the shot.

Attack roll and damage(Ion) (1d20+0=20, 3d6=13)Woohoo! Natural 20!
Crit Damage(Ion) (3d6=12)

So I would have done 25 damage on the crit. I was totally expecting not to hit with the -2 for range.

Danguard tries to stop the energy from harming him by holding his hand up to it. There is a brief sheen of blue corona that surrounds him and angrily diminishes as Danguard reels a scorched hand back to his side, cursing the droid as his cloths smolder from the shot.

I try to take advantage of the flanking and take a swipe at the droid...

The board ate my post, however I rolled a melee of 10 and whiffed again, even with the flanking bonus.

As a move action I take the 2nd lightsaber and flip the activation plate on, determined to at least get another chance to hit with all the bad luck that he is experiencing. [the 2nd saber was the master Jedi's saber I picked up after the crash.]

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

swift: perception to find a path through difficult terrain.
Roll: 1d20+2 = 21

Passed I beleive, giving me a sure footed path to Aruuna, I get behind her [2 squares away from the droid they flank to avoid aao's and attempt to use Vital Transfer on her.

Use the Force activation check on Vital transfer.
Roll: 24
Result: Heal Aruuna 3 HP, Dealing 1 damage to myself.

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

Klonsa scans around him for a way to move closer to those up front.

Perception check 1d20+8 [19,8] = (27) Wow happy roller.

Finding a suitable path he rushes towards Aruuna and Danguard to back them up. Seeing Aruuna has been shot twice he stops behind her and allows the Force to flow through him and into her soothing some of the wounds.

If I can get close enough I will use Vital Transfer on Aruuna. 1d20+8[20,8] = (28) Booyah!!! Nat 20! I will also spend a Force Point to not take any damage. Aruuna would heal 4 x her level +5 for my Selkath racial Able Healer ability. Now I really hope I was able to get close enough.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Far too distracted by the energy arcing around her, which produced a rather surprised and irritated little exclamation from Aruuna, she makes an easy target for the remaining droid, and takes a bolt to the chest, singing clothes and flesh. Rather annoyed at this, she lets out a scream of pain, which turns into a shout at the droid who shot her.

'Schutta spawn!'

She then tries to calm herself as the rage inside builds up, barely keeping it under wraps as she thrusts her lightsaber towards the droid she's in melee with.

Attack Roll (1d20+2+2=13)
Damage Roll (2d8+1=15)

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar readies an action to return fire in case the last two droids are not finished off at the end of the round.

HK-22, seeing the Jedi are now drawing fire as they ought, takes this round to move back up the condition track, the better to make snarky comments and shoot lots of people.

Ceelell's shot hits the droid squarely and the blast shuts it down quite effectively.

At the last second, the droid almost accidentally manages to step out of the way of Dangaurd's swing, thus avoiding the Jedi's assault.

Christy manages to step lightly to Aruuna's side, avoiding the attention of the droid, and channels the healing energy of the Force through her and into Aruuna.

As Aruuna spins back around from the droid firing on her, she manages to neatly pierce the droid she already damaged, shutting it down in a very permanent manner.

While Klonsa cannot reach Aruuna this round, as all of the droids have fallen at this point, he can reach he immediately after Aruuna dispatches the last (opposing) droid on the field.

Klonsa focuses on the healing energies of the Force, and the natural talent for healing possessed by the Selkath takes over, flooding vitality into the Twi'lek Jedi.

Anyone trained in Knowledge (Physical Sciences), let me get a skill check from you to see what the results are (unless I'm wrong, I think that is just Ceelell and Remar).

Once we establish that check, we'll move on.

For Everyone:

Spoiler:
400 xp for everyone

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Ceelell looks down over the landscape, trying to determine if there seem to be any other possible ambushes or at least any good spots to make more defensible in case there are further hostile groups on their way.

"Is everyone alright? We should probably regroup and tend to our wounded and be prepared to fend off any further incursions."

I made a knowledge tactics as well as the life sciences to try and pick up on any terrain that could be used to our advantage or to the enemies. Rolls below. Finally luck seems to be with me.

Knowledge(Life Science), Knowledge(Tactics) (1d20+8=21, 1d20+8=27)

Knowledge(Life Science), Knowledge(Tactics) (1d20+8=21, 1d20+8=27)

For Ceelell:

Spoiler:
Now that you have a chance to look over the field without anyone shooting at you, you can tell that the shieldleaf plants are large and thick enough that if a character uses a move action, they can kick one up in front of them for cover in nearly any open area covered by them.

You already knew about being able to make the perception check to determine the more solid leaves to run across.

Its a little late now, but you also picked up that the droids weren't able to process complex tactics to use against you.

As far as the Knowledge (Physical Science) goes, you can tell that the motes of electricity that were building up and randomly attacking your allies and the droids are part of an atmospheric storm that Lucen was talking about, and that the only safe place is in a large enclosed space such as the ship itself, until the storm burns itself out.

Otherwise, once per round, a random character is targeted by the built up electricity in the air. If you warn everyone now, they can get back in the ship before another discharge hits.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

"Everyone, get back up to the ship quickly! We need to get inside or that electricity is just going to keep blasting us. It will be safer to move about once this storm is over. For now, let us take shelter. We probably aren't going to get assaulted while the storm is on, or if we do they will have limited numbers. But those droids didn't look smart enough to have launched themselves. There is something guiding them here. We had better find out what it is as soon as the energy levels die down."

I will help Aruuna if possible back aboard, and make we all get back inside.

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

After healing Aruuna, Klonsa rushes for the safety of the ship.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Coming down from the high of battle is rather easy for once, especially with the flood of force energy being put into her by Christy and Klonsa. Rather then charge back into the ship though, she pauses a moment and with deft flicks of her lightsaber, removes the legs and arms from the droid on the ground infront of her, and grabs the torso and head of the machine. Only then, accepting Danguards help, does she make her way back to the ship.

((Probably at a slower pace too.

HK-22 will take the time to grab two of the droid's weapons and then head inside the ship.

"Statement: this droid is damaged. Repairs are required or else dangerous behavior may occur. This unit is currently 300 years out of warranty..."

HK-22 will attempt to identify the new weapons and see if the power packs from them are compatible with his own weapon.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar will remind everyone sadly that everything we know, love, or once held dearly is probably dead now. Even his career.

Groodar directs Author to stop recording.

Groodar will then see if he can salvage any usuable parts off the droids, such as energy cells, power paks, or anything else he can concieve as usable.

He also then tries to see if a droid head is intact and remove it with a fusion torch from his tool kit. His intention is to try and tap into its processor using the ship's computer to see if he can get its last set of commands and who gave them.

Basic: "Give me an hour or so HK-22 and I will lend you repairs."

Mechanics check for droid salvaging. (1d20+7=15)

You can find some chopped up pieces that are easily transportable fairly easily.

Also, I'm going to assume Remar is back in the ship, given that he was firing from as far back on the ramp as he could.

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

I also would like to look over a weapon they used so I grab two that look useable as we pass by them and head back to the ship.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar will drag some parts to the ship and see if he can fashion a power pak from one.

Also, if he found an intact droid head with is processor he hooks it up to the ship's computer (if it is still functioning) using his tool kit.

Use Computer skill check to Improve Access of droid processor. (1d20+12=16)

For each one of you that wants to bring something back in the ship, you can bring two small items or smaller with you as you get into the ship, or one medium sized object.

The droid's rifles are all medium. There are enough droid parts that you can pick up a droid part and count it as a small item (arm, head, foot, etc.) . . .

You can grab more than one medium item, or two small items, for each extra item you scavenge, the discharge during the storm will build up. In that case, the discharge has a chance to hit you.

Let me know if you are planning on picking up an item and what it might be, and if you are planning on risking the storm to pick up extra items before you get under cover.

Unfortunately, while the rifles have power packs that are small enough to grab two before you get under cover, it takes too long to take the power pack out of more than one of them, so it doesn't save you anything over just bringing in the one medium size weapon.

HK-22 will pick up the biggest, most likely to work rifle he can find and cradle it lovingly like his own destructive child...

Christy Gamble wrote:

Moving quickly back in the ship, Christy can only grab one blaster rifle, unless she wants to brave the storm for an extra round.

Groodar can either grab a blaster rifle or the droid head and one other small droid part, unless he wants to take his chances with the storm for an extra round per medium item.

It should be fairly easy to grab your new baby and carry it home.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Ceelell is going to wait just inside the entrance for the others, watching to make sure no one is caught by the energy and disabled and that no other surprises pop up. Basically I'm just going to ready in case someone gets hurt and then I'll run out to help them.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Having grabbed the droid parts, Aruuna quite quickly dives under cover, eager not to become a fried Twi'lek.

1 it is

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Not wanting to risk his pale green skin against the storm Groodar grabs a droid head and the closest small droid part.

He looks up at the ill convenient discharge storm as his head antennae dart angrily at it while scanning.

He than scurries into the ship like a scared mouse droid.

So, as far as scavenged items go:

Aruuna has the head and torso of a droid.

HK-22 has a rifle.

Christy has a rifle.

Groodar has another droid head and a ramdom blown up droid part that happened to be nearby.

Before the storm gets any worse, the crew of the Dantooine's Hope makes it back on the ship, just as some of the static discharges begin to splay across the hull of the shuttle.

As you all gather once again in the hold, Lucen seems pleased that you have all returned.

"Did you have fun in the storm? Some of the more adventurous of my people try to race each other through the discharges, but that can be a painful game to play."

Groodar, you can begin your repairs of HK-22 if you wish. Anyone trained in mechanics can attempt to aid you if they wish to do so.

Anyone helping with repairing HK-22 is tied up for the next hour. Is there anything specific that anyone else wants to accomplish while HK-22 is being repaired?

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar takes out his tool kit from his well-worn backpack and goes to work on HK-22, ignoring the hacking into the droid processor for the time being.

Mechanics skill check on HK-22 (1d20+7=13)

Um, at least you got a nice shine.

Well . . . if four people trained in mechanics can help, its not a loss quite yet . . . but otherwise, looks like the next hour is penciled in as well . . . ;)
