Day Two Results

Groodar and Remar begin to make good headway on the environmental seals and breached plating on the ship, but in the middle of their work, some trouble arises.

The analysis team has trouble finding proper plates that can be lifted from the crashed ship to be used to patch the hull of the Dantooine's Hope, and some of the parts for the environmental seals seem to be in places they are used to searching.

On top of this, some of the plating that the analysis team did pick out proved to be a bit heavier than the work crew anticipated, so it took quite a while to move the plating from the wreck to Dantooine's Hope.

All in all, unfortunately not much was accomplished towards getting the Dantooine's Hope in spaceworthy condition on this day, however, none of the parts were damaged or wasted on this day either.

For day three, Remar and Groodar can keep the check they already had for day two, if Groodar wants to keep it, or you can make a new roll. The rest of the teams can fill in with their leaders making checks and others aiding another as appropriate.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Oh man, third day almost has a good roll. If I get two aid-anothers then we can have it over 20, might actually find some good stuff.

Int Check (1d20+3=17)

Never one to be kept down by a setback in his work, Ceelell tries to encourage the others as they look to find pieces of the ship that could be useful.

Too bad its not a skill check or I could give those helping me a +1 to try and make sure the aid works. As is the above is just fluff of him yammering.

Danguard, I'm sure, would be caught stealing a glance or two in that sexy Twi'lek's direction as well. I'm only Human..., but would deny it to Twenty Two if called out.

Day Two Summary

By glorious happenstance, this day go extremely well for the party. It more than makes up for the day of unfortunate set backs they just suffered.

Danguard and HK-22 managed to get the material from yesterday and the earlier parts of the morning to the ship quickly, allowing them to spend time aiding the analysis team in clearing out more of the ship.

Although Klonsa is a bit bewildered by everything that is going on, Ceelell's team manages to find not just equipment that is useful for repairing the Dantooine's Hope, but extremely useful pieces that can very easily be installed, rapidly increasing the speed with which the components can be installed.

Groodar and Remar, despite not being able to get much done yesterday, did lay out several items that could be completed quickly if the day had gone better, and this day, Groodar has a breakthrough on getting the diagnostic systems and the backup systems working nearly as well as the main systems.

In the end, between the Analysis Team and the Repair Team, you have managed to get about three days worth of work done in a single day, more than making up for the lost day yesterday, and having done the equivalent of four days worth of work on the ship already at this point.

For Groodar . . .

Groodar has done so well leading the repair team, and getting so much work done without a (major) set back, Groodar and everyone on all of the teams will get a +1 bonus to skill checks and ability checks.

Note: This isn't the standard destiny bonus for his destiny, but I didn't want to make the bonus something that wasn't going to help him or the party, or else it wouldn't be much of a reward.

All that is left to do is to install the engine components and the hyperdrive, which can, if all goes fairly well, be done in a day's time.

For Groodar:

Spoiler:
If you want to spend a Force point to get an impressive result, now would probably be the time.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

How did you want to do the install? Is this the same set of teams from the previous rolls, or are we letting the install team do their thing?

You'll still need a work team to haul the engine parts and the hyperdrive, but it should be pretty obvious what can be salvaged at this point, so they'll only be a work team and a repair team.

Groodar and Remar will be making a skill check, so if you wanted to inspire them instead of helping the work crew, you certainly could.

Haul me baby: 1d20+2=20

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Sounds good. I'll give the +1 on the check.

Working to help the others by coordinating everyones efforts, Ceelell tries to help everything run as smoothly as possible.

Is it just me or do we have two really flirty jedi?

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

Klonsa begins grabbing parts and helps hauling them to their ship. Unlike the past day where the complex mechanics of a starship confused him, the manual labor was simple and allowed his thoughts to wander to what had become of his people in the years they had been unconscious.

Str Check 1d20 [18] = (18)

Day Four Summary

The work crew heaves tirelessly to haul the large, cumbersome engine parts, as well as the large, heavy, yet delicate hyperdrive and navicomputer to the Dantooine's Hope. Inspired by Groodar's amazing progress yesterday, the entire crew has a spring in their step and a focus to get the job done.

The repair crew manages to get the engines mounted, the hyperdrive swapped out, and the navicomputer synced with the shuttles normal computer system. While everyone works hard, Groodar does a fine, steady job of finishing all of the technical work as things are put in place, and at the end of the day, when Groodar fires up the engines and the computers, everything seems to be working, at least well enough for the ship to be used for what it is intended to do.

Everyone but Groodar has also taken their first step towards their destiny by being able to leave this moon (Groodar took his first step by nearly completing the repairs). While its not the standard bonus for the destinies in question, each of you may choose one of the following effects for moving towards your destiny, which will be in place for all of Day Five.

You do not have to choose until you begin to make rolls, but once you have chosen, that will be the benefit for the rest of the day.

Choice One: +1 destiny bonus to all skill checks and ability checks for all allies within 10 squares of you.

Choice Two: +2 destiny bonus to all defenses for all allies within 10 squares of you.

Choice Three: +2 bonus on all damage rolls for all allies within 10 squares of you.

Choice Four: For one day only, you are treated as having a "starship destiny" from Scum and Villainy pg 53 (i.e. you can spend destiny points on the ship in special ways).

Choice Five: You gain one temporary Force Point that you can spend during the day only.

Destiny bonuses do not stack, so if more than one of you picks a bonus that gives a bonus to allies in 10 squares and it gives the same type of bonus, those bonuses will not stack with one another.

Spoiler:

600 XP Each

Let me know what your plans for the night of the fourth day are, as well as what you might have in mind now that the ship appears to be somewhat viable.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Being able to further boost my allies skill checks is probably more my style, so I will take that option.

Ceelell looks over the ship and nods his head a bit in approval. "Very good everyone, we have worked well thus far as a team to get ourselves ready. It seems that there is still one question that we should likely have considered earlier though. This planet seems to have a great effect on ships systems and has brought down so many vessels. Now that we know that we can prepare for it. Does anyone have any ideas how we may do that?"

Not sure if that would be a knowledge check or a mechanics check to try and identify.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Woohoo! 600xp! Level 2 for all!. Also, Aruuna would pick option 4

Aruuna stands looking at the ship along with everyone else.. "Well, firstly, I'd make sure the ship is spaceworthy. Just a few flights around the place to check everything's working, then climb up through the atmosphere. I wouldn't want to know about a leak when we hit vacuum, after all. Anyone want to help me pilot?"

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Aren't we already level 3? I think we have like 1700xp to go.

Level 3? heh. heck no. I'm going to hold off on a decision for now, not sure which I like. HK take the lightsaber feat so I can work on my secret corruption destiny :) Just kidding.

Liberty's Edge

Hm, you guys are right. Why am I a first level char, but I had my xp as 3rd level. I am way off.

"Sounds like a plan. Though.. I think we can wait till dawn before doing anything. We've got a night to rest, or do whatever."

"Do...whatever? I accept that invitation then. I think, if your up to it, I wouldn't mind a sparring session, work out some of these kinks from hauling hyperdrive parts around."

Arruna:

Spoiler:

I edited my post before you posted, but you responded after I had a chance to correct it fully,
please accept either version of the text said.

Either this new slightly more confident statement or the original meekish one.

I hate that I edit every post like 30 times before I commit :)

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

She ponders a moment, thinking to herself before replying.

"Well, I suppose we could train a bit. Mock duel and the like. It'd be nice to fight an opponent that can think better then a droid.. You can do that, right Danguard?"

Smiling Defensively: "You wound me, I'm more than just a few well placed muscles. I got more than a hidden sheath up my sleeve, there are a few tricks...somewhere, but they're up there."

Danguard looks to HK-22.

"I wouldn't say Twenty Two is half bad with a saber, a little bit or training and he might be a force to be reckoned with."

Directing his attention back to Arruna.

"But, your right, I would like to spar with someone that knows how to use a lightsaber already. I might pick up a few tricks from them...you."

"HK's learning how to use a lightsaber is he? Well, best bring him along for sparring practice too. Could do with a challenge, after all.."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar is now level 2 and will continue on his Scoundrel path. He will also take the +1 destiny bonus to all skill checks and ability checks for all allies within 10 squares of you to inspire his allies that we may actually get off this hunk of moon with its strange ghost-like spirits.

Basic: "Groodar is a skilled pilot as well and can pilot or function as a co-pilot. Groodar used to fly zoo ships of captured beasts to the inner plants of his system. Many times Groodar had to evasively pilot away from smugglers who tried to steal the game to sell on the black market"

Groodar will spend the next day to go over the ship's systems to make sure all is well.

Specifically:
1- How much of the ship's stores are available (food and water).
2- How much of the life support is available.
3- How much of the ship's power is available.

Using the ship's computer to run diagnostics on the ship systems.

"If I may be so bold as to offer a few conjectures on this subject, Master Ceelell?

Observational data seems to indicate that a combination of the ionic discharge storms that swept this moon a few days ago, and the debris field that fills this system are at least two of the contributory problems with navigating the system.

Unfortunately I was not able to get enough data to properly chart a course through the debris, nor was I able to observe enough of the storms to create a predictive sub-routine to aid in avoiding the storms.

My apologies . . . I seem to only be able to quantify the problems, without presenting viable solutions."

Lucen looks up sheepishly as AAD-42 enumerates the navigational problems with the system.

"There is another hazard. My people, as you observed, when massed, can cause distress for sentient beings. Likely the automaton did not list this because it was less of a problem for an automated crew."

"I think I might be able to lead you through a spot in the debris that is less dangerous than navigating it blind . . . but it will still be dangerous . . . and . . . I'm worried about my people. I could always lead them away from the ship, but I can't lead them from the ship and show you the path out."

The ship's consumables are still set at a month's time. The seals on the water and food were not broken, so even 300 years later, you still have enough for pretty much a full month, with only Klonsa using a bit of the water so far.

Power and life support seem to be working at full operational status.

The ship's hull is stable, but not fully in tip top shape. As you might notice, the Dantooine's Hope stats in the previous post lists the ship in "Junker" status. Its stable, but has the quirks of being a Junker at the moment.

According to diagnostics, everything, including weapons and shields are on line.

Finally, you check allows to to realize that if you have the time and the credits (about half as much as a base shuttle costs), you can retrofit the ship and get rid of the Junker template, if you find a proper spaceport to do the work at.

Stepping away from Danguard a moment and striding up to the ship itself, Aruuna runs her fingers over the ships nameplate in an almost sentimental fashion, cleaning it of any dust picked up from the surface, admiring the craft. "She's a good ship. She's torn up plenty, but she'll fly true."

Turning back to the rest of the party to speak to them. "I guess we just have to decide where to go. I think it's safe to say our original mission is over.. but there are still Sith out there whom I wouldn't mind introducing to my Master's saber. Anyone else here want to go Sith hunting?"
