For First try at this got eaten... so here we go again.

This is not my first Con, but it is my First Gen Con.. so I am looking for some advice from people who have been there....

What are some things I should not miss? and when are they?

Is it bad that I am running Games all day Thursday, Friday and until 5 pm Saturday?

How is the transportation in indianapolis? Will I have problems getting some kind of transportation early in the morning 7 miles away from the con?

This is the first Con I have ever been to that I have not driven to, How can I get the $1000's of stuff I will buy from Gen Con to Germany? Is there USPS at the con? and when does it close?

any other tidbits gen Con specific I should know?

I think we're pretty much already having this thread here.

So no.

Edit: I liked you old avatar better :-p

Heh...me too. I just keep moving because the count of other folks using the avatar keeps creeping up. I wish we could upload our own, but I do understand why they don't support that.

BTW...I wasn't trying to play board police; merely trying to make you aware of another thread that might address your question. :)

Dragonmoon, you will definitely be tired after participating in events all day. I went last year and played in 3 events a day thursday - sat and 2 on sunday, figuring iI would get in as much gaming as a I could. I had a great time but was really worn out and there wasn't much time to check out the dealer hall or look at other stuff. This year I am only doing 2 sessions a day to have time for other stuff.

I would recommend going to the Dealer hall on thursday to pick up anything new you want to get, PRPG, and then go again saturday evening or sunday as they tend to have deep discounts on stock they dont want to take back with them.

I am not sure how transportation into the city is, we had our own car last year. We always found a place to park not too far away, though some of the areas were a bit sketchy, like down by the White Castle. Try catching a ride with someone else staying at your hotel, I was at a hotel about 8 miles out last year.

I don't remember there being a UPS delivery both there, but I would think there would be. If there isn't I am sure it would be a profitable booth to set up. If not UPS is open on sunday I imagine there is a UPS store in the city you could send your stuff out at.

see you there
Kelly
