Since there has been no clear agenda announced for President Obama's speech tonight, what do you expect to hear him say?

President Obama will throw his full support behind the Pathfinder RPG, stating his belief that it will help with the economy's recovery and the world's energy crisis.

Dark Archive

Amen.

A hardcover Pathfinder RPG in every pot!

Liberty's Edge

I found the notes for tonight's speech in the bushes an hour ago.

** spoiler omitted **

No. Those are the notes for one of President Bush's speeches about Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.

Please don't hurt me. :)

Dark Archive

I would have to say that they are the notes from every political speech of the last almost two decades. At least neither Bush 41 or Obama has ever used the finger wave, TIKO.

Liberty's Edge

DoveArrow, David, that was kinda my point. Whatever he says tonight is going to be BS. He's a politician, it's what they do.

Dark Archive

Yeah, the best was when I saw a liberal columnest saying that he's just making this speech because his poll numbers goe up when he's on t.v. giving a scripted speech. No more Leno and 60 Minutes for him for a while.

But he's Obama, so he does it better. Wait... wait... THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT! :P

Get him away from his teleprompter, and Obama has foot-in-mouth disease just as badly as Bush ever had.

Granted, Obama is light years better with a prepared speech than Bush was, but off the cuff, he's just as idiotic at times.

It's almost like you read Maureen Dowd's piece last week. Of course Christopher Buckley is more to the point, and when Democrats like Dick Morris start asking does Obama know what he's doing, you know things are getting bad.

Liberty's Edge

I don't read Dowd.

She failed to mention in the article you linked that Obama was the #2 recipient of campaign donations from AIG, #1 being Chris Dodd.

And using "reluctantly" do describe Geithner's actions is disingenuous at best.

Typical one-sided Dowd hack piece.

Also, take Dick Morris with a grain of salt. He is accurate, but he does have an agenda, and he is unapologetic in his criticism of all things Obama.

Dark Archive

Yeah, but you have to admit her openning line was priceless, and hit the nail right on the head.

Edit: The headline on Realclearpolitics.com was the best. It reads "Tough Talk from a Teleprompter" and when you click on it it takes you to the Dowd piece.

Scarab Sages

I read an article the other day (can't remember where) which referred to the President as Barack Oprompta. I almost spit Dr. Pepper all over the screen.
