Liberty's Edge

The University of North Carolina Tar Heels defeated their arch-rival, The Duke Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium (Duke's home court) last night.

Duke, up to this point, was considered the top defensive team in the nation, allowing an average of 61 points from their opponents.

Carolina scored 101 in the victory.

This was the fourth year in a row that Carolina beat Duke at Cameron, which means there are Seniors graduating from Duke this year that have never seen their team beat Carolina at their home stadium.

Futhermore, the Carolina player most hated by Duke fans, Tyler Hansbrough, has NEVER lost to Duke at Cameron, and as he is a senior, he never will.

I only point this out because a few years back, Duke had a stretch where they owned us. Now the pendulum has swung back in our favor...for now.

That's what makes this rivalry so much fun.

Go Heels!

Congrats, it's a great rivalry to watch!
(Go Huskies!)

I have not been able to get into basketball. I think, largely, because one great play does not matter much in the overall scheme of things. Sure, there is momentum change, but 2, or even 3 points, makes little difference out of 100.

So what is it I am missing? I know there must be more.

Basketball is a game of momentum. One team goes on a scoring run, then levels off. The other team then goes on a run; back and forth. In a game between evenly matched teams, it gets intense.
