Are there any plans to release a web enhancement with the non-PHB player races?
I'm presently in a campaign switching to Pathfinder and our biggest hitch has been the Gray Elf and Kobold that lack balancing against the new races. Some word from Paizo would be doubleplusawesome.
Well the Pathfinder Beastiary was recently announced Here
I would assume that kobolds will be in there, but I can't say anything about elf sub-species.
[sarcasm] Slightly Cloud With Chance Of Scattered Showers elves FTW :p [/sarcasm]

Didn't James or another Paizonian state that monsters are monsters, and that they're not going to stat them up as playable races?
A shame, really...
ETA: Ok, correction.
What James said was:
...combined with the fact that the Pathfinder Bestiary's #1 purpose is to provide monsters and NOT character options, means that we won't be putting "Monsters as Characters" sidebars in the book, I suspect.
That certainly doesn't mean we won't ever do a "monsters as PCs" book, of course!
It was someone/somewhere else that I read the comment about monsters are monsters, and shouldn't be used as player races. Can't say that I agree. Glad to see that Paizo doesn't, either!
I truly hope they release a series of "Monsters as Characters" books. A member of my gaming group expressed the interest in running a campaign where the entire party are Gnolls. Never really thought about the concept of the ENTIRE party playing as one monster race, but it's intriguing.
That, plus I love statbooks for PC races...

I wouldn't set your expectations very high. The point of the new PFRPG racial stat's is to balance the core races against the monster races and other races that came afterwards. Tweaking the more powerful races upwards defeats the purpose entirely. Besides, PFRPG is also suppose to be backwards compatible, so in theory those races should already be balanced as is.

Yup; a Savage Species type book is a pretty solid idea for a book a year or two or something after the Pathfinder RPG debuts. Remember, we can't address EVERY possible style of campaign at once. We need to establish the baseline, and that's basically what you see in the Players' Handbook and DMG and the Monster Manual. Now certainly, the Monster Manual has sections like "Goblins as Characters," and if there's room we'll probably do something similar in the Pathfinder Bestairy (it's looking like there WILL be room, by the way)... but only for races like goblins or lizardfolk or drow or svirfneblin or the like who are relatively low-powered. Don't expect that kind of treatment for ogres or minotaurs or rakshasas.
In the end, the Pathfinder Bestiary is a monster resource, though, not a player splat book. If things need to get cut to make it fit, the options for players is going to be among the first to go.

I vote that if anything gets an "As player" slot and PF-style upgrade though, its Kobolds. Without using a pretty dirty trick (which only makes them useful as sorcerers) they are next to worthless but people love to play them. A small boost to bring them at least up to the same relative power level they had before would be really really appreciated, perhaps narrowing the gap a bit more. (Let them stay a disadvantaged race though, part of the fun of playing a Kobold is being the underdog, or lizard-dragon-blood whatever lol)

Tieflings, Tieflings and even more Tieflings.........PLEAAAAAAASEEEE. The 3.5 Ed are quit unbalanced in regards to the PFRPG races. my players keep bugging me as to allow them an additional +2 Attribute since the other races are +2 +2 -2. We can't find agreement on how to balance them. Be it dropping the ECL plus Damage resistance in exchange for the additional +2 Attribute, or what ever. None will agree to any change I suggest. We need fixed rules so they will stop complaining.....to weak...., to strong..., not fair.....,
I have been putting off a Cheliax based Campaign (in which, for to me unknown reasons, 4 from 6 want to play a Tiefling)............Heeeeeelp, HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLP... Do Tieflings.....

I'm not clear why non-PHB races should instantly be classified as monsters and statted in the Bestiary (or not as space demands).
My preference, and one of things I would like to see most, is either a web enhancement or a standalone product that converts several non-PHB 3.5E races and templates to the PFRPG, including:
Aasimar
Tieflings
Genasi
Psionic races
Warforged (or something like them)
Half-Minotaurs, Mindflayers, Ogres, etc.

That would make a nice Chronicles book, throw in some traits, PrCs, deities, weapons, and we got a nice book
By the way, I kind of like Goliaths myself

What the heck... I'll toss in my two coppers (and as I've said before it's hard for a dragon to part with any coins from his hoard...) but seriously, I like the Goliaths too... but I think the Raptorans were pretty cool also. (And I'd like to see Aasimar, and Tieflings too.)
The idea of a "Pathfinder Chronicles Savage Species" type of book in the near future is enough for me... and I'm not entirely sure PF could have "Goliaths" or "Raptorans" as I'm not sure that they are OGL.
But, I'm all for a "Savage Species" or "Humanoid Handbook" for the PFRPG.

LOL, Gratuitous plug! ;)
But seriously this is a cool book so you should buy it. At $4.50 it's practically like you're stealing it!
WIGHTSCALE FTW!!!

At best you may get updates to OGL races that have already been explored in Pathfinder, The Aasimar and Tiefling. Anything else is wishful thinking before at least the PAthfinder RPG is out.
Just a few questions, please:
Where are the guidelines for playing tiefling/aasimar characters? What is the conversion rate for CL from 3.5 to Pfrpg?
What I had been doing up till now was for NPCs just do a straight-over conversion (that is, CL3=CL3). But that leaves them a little light in the case of PCs.

First off we have the isssue of what is open and what is Wizards ownership. That being said for me most humanoid races should be easy enough to stat up as a player race.
I have one group that is still playtesting Pathfinder, and one group led by me that is playing the game and house 'adjusting' as need be. Races from 3.5 stuff as simply been adjusted down one CR/ECL. This works fairly well to play a race. One can reduse the ECL by one if the race has the right set of racial adjusts by Pathfinder standards, or simply add +2 (insert ablity here) and keep ECL.
Having said all that Paizo might want to stick to humanoid races, or races with ECL's below say 10. Why? Well 1 most races above that ECL I have found players to not be intersted in the price they must pay to play it, and even more important, as much as I liked the fact that in 3.5 one could in theory play a Beholder or whatever, very few players wanted to, nor were many GM's willing to alow such.
On the other hand I've seen such books as a lot of the WoWC RPG books stat out giants and such very well and very easily stated out.
I guess this means I'm somewhat netural. Sure I'd love to Lizardfolk and Centaurs stated out, and I've always thought Orcs should be a core race. But we all can't get everything we want, becuase no two of us wants the same.

PS I'm back from vactation and ready to game.

I would say that Aasimar and Tieflings are now perfectly balanced for a 0 L.A. Race. Might lose the resistances, or maybe only keep one, but otherwise they are good to go.
Tieflings do not get any new stat bumps, they are as is, and Favored class is now Ranger(?) and Rogue.
Aasimar is also unchanged, and Favored Classes are Cleric and Paladin.

I might lose the Daylight or Darkness.
(Especially Darkness - I have a tiefling Binder 20 / Rogue 2 and I haven't used Darkness once.)

True, but I still think that all the resistances are a little to much.
I would keep the Daylight and Darkness. Daylight is not so good anymore as Light is pretty much an at will ability for any caster, but Darkness can be very awesome in a lot of different ways. Maybe consider giving Teiflings either Darkness 1/day or one of the Energy Resistances, and maybe dropping all the Aasimars to 2 and Light at will, or 1/10 minutes or something.

I agree that i would like to see a savage species type book for pathfinder but one that was done correctly since the savage species book released by Wotc was garbage and i only take it out for the feats and templates.
As far as updates to other races such as those from the completes books i am pretty sure this goes along with why there is not a pathfinder updated Hexblade or Warlock (not that the Warlock needs an update imho) those classes that are not in a core rules book are not open to the ogl the same way as the core classes are so the same would most likely be true of the Goliath and his ilk from the races of books. So if Paizo is bared from updating them then i would rather see them come up with some all new original material as far as races. They could create some with similarities to the ones that we are talking about while not infringing on any non ogl content.
