Male Dwarf Rogue / 6

Sorry Ghetto and all: Life and professional matters caught up to me. I apologize for interrupting the flow of the game. I normally try to be more courteous, but I was unable to access the internet for a few days. I'll try to provide a heads up should I have an issue again. Back in play now.

Rourke snaps to and fires a bolt at the closest of the large canines.

Ranged Attack Roll (1d20 7=10)

Figures, this is karma for falling behind!

Male Half Elf Ranger1

"What dew me tack?" asks the wood elf in broken common. He looks at Lance and the others nearby for his orders.

Asfer delays.

Male Lesser Aasimar Paladin of Freedom 4/ Half-Vampire Template LA +2

“Shoot the wolves” Lance calls out in response to Asfer query. He then rushes forward (M7) and calls forth the power of Pelor to turn away the undead corpses that are approaching.

Lance's Turn Undead check & damage (1d20+7=16, 2d6+6=17)

Male Human Priest 1

Gaspar upon seeing the situation casts Light of Mercuria upon himself, and begins to glow with a golden light. He then waits to see the results of his companions efforts before releasing his first ray. he always targets existing undead before turning to mundane creatures

Knowledge Religion (1d20+9=26)

Ranged touch (Golden Ray) (1d20+4=6)

OH well! never mind the damage, but if by some miracle.

Damage vs. Undead (4d6=13)

Male Half Elf Ranger1

First attack=24(inc cover bonus from Brinmore Kane), Piercing Damage=11 or 23(if undead)

"Danks!"

Asfer snaps an arrow at the wolfrat facing Brinmore. Then he steps forwards five foot and shoots the one behind.

Second attack=11(inc cover bonus from first wolfrat, Piercing damage=11 or 22(if undead)

Just a reminder, that I have no time to do a substantial post on Wednesdays. Tomorrow I'll resolve the actions so far.

F Human Wizard 1

Lyria looks at all the monsters moving towards the group, and mentions impatiently : "Undead. Why am I not surprised. Any villager would be lucky to stay alive with this amount of monsters inside the village. I do hope someone is alive to pay us, as starting to look for the money would be so tiring...". Returning her attention to the advancing rats, Lyria starts gesturing and calls clearly : " Flammeus globus!". A ball of fire appears right over the hay cart, which bursts in flame and moves quickly backwards, straight at the closest rat to the group.
Hope the fire would block or at least damage the corpses which try to pass next to it.

Cast Flaming Sphere at the hay cart, which should kindle quickly as a standard action. My move action is for moving the sphere to the rat (gr1), which needs to save vs. reflex or take 10 damage.

Damage from Flaming Sphere (2d6=10)

Brinmore smashes his mace into the creature with a satisfying crunch.

Rourke's crossbow shot bounces off of Brinmore's armor.

Lance moves forward and shouts out a prayer. The animals emit shrieks of panic.

Upon recieving direction, Asfer's first arrow goes clean through the animals head. GR1 is dead. However, he can't find the mark on his second arrow.

The hay cart bursts into flame. GR2 can't get out of the way of the ball of fire that soars out of the haycart fire. GR2 is dead.

g2g, more in a few...

F Human Wizard 1

Well, as the rat is dead before my turn, can Lyria move the sphere to one of the corpses behind the cart this turn ?

Lyria Flamedancer wrote:

I had moved it to kill the second rat/wolf, which was right behind the first. If you still want to change it, you can, but that creature will be alive again. Your choice.

F Human Wizard 1

Ok then, don't change anything.

Ghetto DM wrote:

EDIT: The animals do not panic, I thought they were undead, but no. So no visible effect from Lance's turning.

Gerth jumps up and grabs the edge of the roof. He can't pull himself up, but hangs onto the edge.
The Jump check wasn't enough to get onto a 12 foot high roof with or without a running start, but it did get you within reach of the roof. Not sure how the tumble check was intended to help, so I used it as a Climb check to pull yourself up. The check, a 14, failed, but you didn't fall.

Gaspar's aim is way off.

Gaspar -

Spoiler:
You recognize the corpses as zombies, undead creatures resistant to non-slashing weapons. Zombies are also very slow and only get 1 action per round.

The corpses plod forward, and to Gaspar's surprisse some of them attack. Lance ducks swings from two of them. And Brinmore's armor absorbs a heavy fist.

Rourke - 23
Lance - 21
Asfer – 20

Gerth, holding onto the roof edge with one hand, tries to kick up for momentum to spring/twist and plant his feet on the roof.
Jump,tumble: 41,21

Once on the roof. Gerth looks around for happenings outside the immediate battle. i.e. if our foes have reinforcements coming, or if he can see other groups Spot:19

So a paladin's Turn Undead is 3 less than a Cleric's, does that apply to both the Turning Check and the Turning Damage? I had thought it applied only to the Turning Damage?

So i figured my TU roll could turn up to a 6HD creature and the turning damage would be 17HD worth of undead.

A paladin does indeed count as three levels lower for the check and the damage. So you turned 17 HD worth of 3 HD creatures.

Male Half Elf Ranger1

Asfer pipes up, "Dem wuvs dun. Wat now?"

Male Lesser Aasimar Paladin of Freedom 4/ Half-Vampire Template LA +2

Asfer wrote:

“Focus your arrows on the corpse that I attack next my friend. You’ll have a clear shot and we’ll see these blasphemes of nature put to rest”

Lance will attack the Corpse at (C1)

Hit AC20, Damage 24 (evil and undead damage included)

Lance's attack vs C1: Smite Evil, Pelor's Blessing, Holy Surge, Truedeath Crystal (1d20+15=20, 1d8+9=17, 2d6=5, 1d6=2)

Male Human Crusader (6th)

Brinmore takes a 5' step to the north (to square M8) and attacks corpse C3 with Vanguard Strike (provides allies +4 to strike that opponent with melee and ranged attacks until my next attack)

Vanguard strike against C3 (1d20+9=29)

Confirm critical (1d20+9=29)

Melee damage (mace): critical strike (2d8+8=16)

Brinmore's AC is now back to 24

Leading the Attack (1)
Vanguard Strike (1) - used
Stone Vise (2)

Ghetto, would you be able to let me know what maneuver replaces Vanguard Strike? Thanks!

F Human Wizard 1

Lyria sighs, then shoots her crossbow at one of the corpses, missing. Lowering the crossbow, she concentrates to move the flaming sphere over to one of the corpses attacking Lance.

Standard to shoot, move action to move sphere to L6.

C1 needs to save vs. reflex or take Flaming Sphere damage (2d6=5) damage

Crossbow vs C3 (1d20+5=9) add +4 from Brinmore if it matters anything

Male Half Elf Ranger1

Ranged
Longbow +12/+7 (+6/+1 BAB, +4 Dex, +1 Magical, +1 Weapon Focus) 1d8+5(x3) Piercing
Longbow (Rapid Shot) +10/+10/+5 (+6/+1 BAB, +4 Dex, +1 Bow, +1 Weapon Focus, -2 Rapid Shot) 1d8+5(x3) Piercing
+2d6+5 damage vs undead due to Bane bow and Improved Favoured Enemy

Asfer shoots an arrow at the corpse attacking Lance, C1, aiming for its throat.Attack=28, Damage=24

If the creature falls he stops shooting (as ordered) otherwise he tries to kill it again. Attack=19, Damage=23

Asfer takes a five foot step forwards at least.

When the corpse falls he shouts to Lance, "Got it!"

Weather is messing with my internet. I will post when I'm able.

don't forget your Point Blank Shot bonius, also your due a 3rd shot.

Asfer wrote:

"They're all undead Asfer, target another" Lance calls back

going with the hopes that after taking so much damage, that Asfer is correct in that the creature has dropped. Also being in melee Lance must have confirmed that they are undead.

Male Half Elf Ranger1

Apologies I had the beginnings of food poisoning when I posted. Didn't mean to include the stats. Remembered the PBShot in the middle of the night.

Asfer fires two arrows targetting a second corpse, "OK Ance."

I'll keep it simple this round

Male Dwarf Rogue / 6

Rourke, cursing, reloads his crossbow and takes a shot at one of the zombies.

Ranged Attack Roll (1d20+7=23)

Crossbow Damage (1d8+1=2)

M Githzerai Monk 4

On his turnGerth runs across the rooftops towards the corpses (looks like there is 20 feet of room ) jumps, twistings in the air (removing a kamas from his belt as a free action to land behind the three corpses attacking his travel-companions.

Balance,jump,tumble: [url=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1865276/] 11,37,21.

Brinmore swings and connects with the corpse expertly. The mace thuds of the rotting flesh, probably not the most effective weapon.
Because the creature is undead, Brinmore hits for 9 points. Actually less because of DR. And your next manuever is Bonecrusher.

Rourke's crossbow bolt sinks into the animated body, and the creature doesn't even slow down.
The crossbow bolt does no damage.

Lance's sword effectively tears across the creature.

Asfer's first arrow goes clean through the corpses skull, sending up a spray of blood as it falls backwards and stops moving. C1 is dead.

Lyria directs her ball of fire towards C2, but the corpse takes a lucky step (or stagger) and the flames miss it.

Gerth pulls himself the rest of the way onto the roof and looks around, but can't see much due to the mist.
I've been thinking about this and I understand how you wanted to Jump and Tumble up, but without a rule source to back it up, it's not going to work. I'm assuming these methods of climbing are already rolled into the Climb skill. I used these rolls as a Climb check, so Gerth is on the roof.

Gaspar delays.

The rest of the corpses amble forward, forming a wall of decayed flesh across the street. One of the corpses connects with Lance.
Lance is hit for 2 points after DR, and please post a Fortitude save.

Gaspar is on delay and can post whenever.
Brinmore - 23
Rourke - 23
Lance - 21
Asfer – 20
? - 19
Lyria - 17
Gerth - 15
Gaspar - 11

Male Human Crusader (6th)

As the first corpse falls Brinmore turns and makes a vicious strike at one of the advancing corpses in the hopes of slowing their advance and shouts, "For Pelor!".

Brinmore uses Stone Vise on corpse C5. Stone Vise adds +1d6 to damage and the corpse needs to make a DC 15 Fortitude check or not be able to move for the next round.

Stone Vise strike against corpse C5 (1d20+9=24)

Stone Vise strike damage (1d8+4+1d6=9)

Ghetto, could you please provide me with my next maneuver? I can use Invisible Castle to roll randomly if you would like to save you the hassle of having to pick each round?

Male Lesser Aasimar Paladin of Freedom 4/ Half-Vampire Template LA +2

“Let us hold them back my friend” Lance says as he glances over to the Crusader fighting alongside him

Taking up Brinmore’s call, Lance also shouts out “For Pelor!” as he swings his sword with zeal at the corpse at (C3)

In the event that it may be needed here’s Lance's Knowledge Religion check (1d20+5=9) haha, should have taken the 10 :)

“Gaspar, anything useful you can enlighten us with? These corpse seemed bolstered as they resisted my own turning.”

Lance's Fort save (1d20+12=23)

Hit AC13; Damage = 19 (undead and evil damage included)

Lance's Attack & Damage: Holy Surge, Truedeath Crystal (1d20+8=13, 1d8+3=10, 3d6=9)

Male Lesser Aasimar Paladin of Freedom 4/ Half-Vampire Template LA +2

Brinmore gets 2 attacks right?

hmmm, I could have gotten Flanking against (C2)

Male Half Elf Ranger1

First shot=23(19 inc cover), Piercing Damage=19

The elf shoots again at the corpse before Lance. Then he shoots the open one beside it.

Second shot=11, Piercing damage=23

"Cun shot fast if 'elps."

Brinmore plants his mace soundly into the corpses midsection. Again, the mace is doing less than full damage. Go ahead and roll for your manuevers. And undead are immune to effects requiring Fortitude saves unless they also effect objects.

Rourke delays.

Lance fails to connect with the lurching corpse.

Asfer's first arrow sends up another spray of blood, but his second one sinks into the wall of the building. Arrows are still not the best for damaging corpses.

Lyria delays.

Gerth leaps from the roof, landing behind the corpses.
Gerth -

Spoiler:
As you leap, you notice a skeletal form huddling in the alley (M2).

Right now Rourke, Lyria, and Gaspar are on delay. I'll give them another day before I continue.

F Human Wizard 1

Lyria moves her flaming sphere along the line of corpses, trying to hit another one. At the same time, she loads another bolt and fires it at another corpse, hitting the wall behind the corpse.

C4 moved into L6, which my sphere of fire is in. Is it supposed to save vs. it ? I have no idea. Anyway, I move the sphere to L7 (C2 needs to save vs. reflex with -2 or take 9 damage) , then shoot C5 with my crossbow.
2d6=9, 1d20+5=14 (Flaming sphere damage)(Crossbow attack)

Male Dwarf Rogue / 6

Rourke stows his crossbow and draws his shortsword. Moving up, he squares off against the nearest corpse.

draw a weapon and move

Male Human Priest 1

Gaspar releases his other golden bolt at one of the undead.

Ranged Touch (1d20+4=16)

Damage (4d6=13)

M Githzerai Monk 4

Gerth shouts to his companions about the skeletal figure in the alley to his allies. He uses his kama from behind to attempt to trip a corpse the one on the bottom; sorry, forget the square designation.

I assume I am behind the walking dead, and I am using a kama to trip my opponent rolled 25

Strength check:19
If it falls, follow up attack with kama: 25 Damage: 4

Gerth hooks his kama around the rotten leg of one corpse, but can't knock it over.

I'll rule that a creature walking into the sphere's square is subject to a save. C4 made it. And note, I made the sphere's square red.
The ball of fire rolls into corpse C2. It's flesh melts on contact. Lyria's crossbow bolt is deflected by Brinmore's armor.

Rourke enters the fray.

Gaspar aims a ray of golden energy over Lance's shoulder, further injuring C2.

The corpses continue their mindless assault. One smashes Lance in the face with a forearm.
Lance is crit! Lance takes 11 after DR. Please post a Fortitude save.
Another slams its shoulder into Rourke's chin.
Rourke is hit for 6. Please post a Fortitude save.

Brinmore - 23
Lance - 21
Asfer – 20
Skeletal form - 19
Gerth - 15
Lyria - 14
Rourke - 13
Gaspar - 11
Corpses – 4

M Githzerai Monk 4

so much for trying to be fancy

Gerth comes to the conclusion that these creatures are too tough for his style of fighting. They are very tough and strong. He tries to take full advantage of none turning to face him.

Uses his psi abilitiy of inertial armor. (+4 AC)

M Githzerai Monk 4

This may not be an issue for others, but I am having trouble finding the map we reference for this encounter. If at all possible, could you include this link with your posts every so often?

The map link is in my profile.

And Gerth, using a psi-like ability is going to provoke. First, and only warning.

Male Lesser Aasimar Paladin of Freedom 4/ Half-Vampire Template LA +2

Seeing as the corpse at (C2) has been struck by his companions, Lance supports there attacks and slashes at the foul creature.

If Brinmore takes out (C2), then redirect my attack against (C4)

Hit AC25; Damage = 20 (undead and evil damage included)

Lance's Attack Damage against (C2): Holy Surge, Truedeath Crystal (1d20+10=25, 1d8+3=8, 3d6=12)

Lance's Fort save (1d20+12=19)

So, the only ones with a declared action this round are Gerth and Lance. Is anyone else still playing?

Male Human Priest 1

Gaspar turns towards the Undead with a look of righteous fury on his face, and raises his holy Sun of Pelor into the air. "Begone Corruptions of life and Light." "Return to the state you should be in".

Using an extra turn attempt he attempts to destroy these undead.

Turn Check (1d20+7=19) - Effects up to 9HD

Turning Damage (3d6+9=21) - Up to 21 HD total are destroyed - not turned, as the light of Pelor strips their decayed flesh from their bones.

F Human Wizard 1

Lyria concentrates and moves the flaming sphere towards another corpse, while firing her crossbow at it.

2d6=6, 1d20+5=9
(Sphere damage if C3 doesn't save; Crossbow attack at C3)

Male Half Elf Ranger1

Asfer moves over to the opposite side of the street Q9 and takes a single shot at the corpse out in the open. However the arrow skitters off the walls and just misses Lance.

"Sorree, I missed."

Nat 1

Brinmore delays.

Lance's sword cuts across the chest of a corpse, cutting it nearly in half. The body falls unmoving.
C2 is dead.

Gerth

Spoiler:
The skeletal creature continues to huddle in the alley.

Gerth concentrates for a moment, giving the three corpses round him an opening.
C3 hits Gerth for 8 points. C6 hits Gerth for 8 points. Gerth please post 2 Fortitude saves and 2 Concentration checks.

The stink of burning flesh gets worse as Lyria directs her sphere against another corpse. And then she loads her crossbow. That's 2 move actions, you can't shoot this round.

Rourke suddenly shouts in fear and runs by the corpses, further into the village.

Gaspar prayer causes three of the corpses to explode with light, leaving behind greasy ash.
C3, C4, and C5 are dead

C6 attacks gerth, but is easily dodged.

Brinmore - delay
Lance - 21
Asfer – 20
Skeletal form - 19
Gerth - 15
Lyria - 14
Rourke - 13
Gaspar - 11
